wow... cool to see an African team in the semis.

Makes me feel a little better about Canada's exit - two of that group are in the semis...so that was the toughest group in the qualifying it appears. Or at least two of the four teams that were hitting their form

Portugal just had no ideas and their passing wasn't good either. Maybe should have started Ronaldo against the low block, but this Morocco team definitely have a Greece 04 feel to them where they are just going to be torture to break down.

Called it, 1-0 Morocco victory through a stifling defence! So happy for Morocco, I'm cheering for them now, what a terrific story

Morocco and Croatia. These are Tournament teams. Its not about who has the best or most expensive players, its about teams who know how to play the Tournament.

They know what they're about.

Who had Morocco as the first? Most people thought it would be Nigeria or Cameroon.

We could be witnessing a fairytale unfolding here. Regardless of what happens from here on out though, it's still dream land stuff. I can't imagine how this must feel for the Moroccan fans, I was fistpumping at the end there.

yeah, or Senegal too... I don't know much about the history of the Morocco team, but their trajectory appears to be pretty quick.

I wonder if Canada can learn anything from how they developed their program.

Grant Wahl's death is devastating news to the family. I'm somewhat related through marriage (he was a nephew's brother-in-law.)

Small World.

Morocco's been around. They also won Group F in 1986 then lost to a late Lothar Mattheus winner. Were poor in 94, good in 98 but unlucky Brazil choked to Norway. Then disappeared until 2018 and 2022.

Condolences to you and your extended family.

It was a huge shock. I read quite a bit of Wahl through the years...he really was the standard bearer for soccer in the US in the media. 49 is way too young to pass away.

You either retire a hero or keep playing long enough to see yourself become the villain.

It's gonna be insufferable seeing Piers Morgan come to his defense though.

Yes, and now the conspiracy nutters are all over it, which is adding to the grief.
