Far north not getting rain from what I hear but west central and the Peace County getting drenched is very good news. Was hoping we would see the same here (south) for the week but sounds like that wont be the case now.

Man, kinda feels like we're heading for another scorched, brown city by July again this year. Still time to get some spring rains in, but just too much "here comes rain in the forecast" followed by slightly overcast and some spot rain in certain areas, but no drenchings that we badly need.

It's so bad for our wetland ecosystems. How many years is that now where wetlands are dried up and life is dead and gone by July? Brutal.

Since I've lived here. Calgary has always a brown city by August. I used to work at a company in the 90's that had a Vancouver office and one of the guys there for some weird reason loved to talk about Calgary's brown grass in August like it was some weird phenomenon he couldn't understand.

Yeah I recall most summers being brown here by early August when I was growing up, it feels like we stay green much later in recent years for some reason. But of course smoke has become a much larger issue over the past several years, I'd certainly take the brown over that.
Agreed, this feels like the 3rd week in a row where it's dry but the following week's forecast calls for rain most of the week, only to never come to fruition (at least in the city). It's frustrating. Just give me one good rain day per week so I'm not constantly worrying about the threat of smoke when I see our hot & dry weekly forecasts.

It rained hard in the North last night. Did the south not get any rain?

Good news, nerds! The WMI Radar is back up and running:
http://www.wmiradar.com/ahsp/index.p...comp&length=10
For those who don't know, Weather Modification Inc. is the company that flies the planes in the Alberta Hail Suppression Project. It is different than other radars because it really focuses on the intensity of cells, and includes things like the height of the cell, the predicted path, etc.
You can also fiddle with your own loops an intervals and then bookmark it once you have found your favourite mix. Keep in mind that the time shown is UTC, so subtract 6 hours.

This is going to be one of those summers where rain is predicted and never shows up isn’t it?

If it's going to be cloudy, windy, and cold it may as well rain. What a useless weather day.

I didn't water my veggie garden this morning because it looked like rain was eminent but that hasn't happened yet.

To my understanding just purely an air quality warning. We are currently at a 7 on their air quality index which = high risk.

We better get all that rain they've forecasted for next week. Like the 4th week in a row the following week is to be rainy, it needs to actually happen this time...
