Actually isn't that more of a Bears fan thing? Is getting into the playoffs worth going through 2 more years of the Pace-Nagy-Trubisky triumvirate? I mean my opinion on Nagy and Trubisky is pretty clear, and surely any objective Bears fan would look at this run and not trick themselves into thinking this is the "answer" more than they've simply had a very easy run of games coming in. But even though we'd all give them a 0.000000000000001% chance of winning it all, that is better than 0.00%. Is the short term joy worth a few more years in the wilderness of mediocrity?
But, if you want to go from the Packers fan perspective, this is the year home field is irrelevant so if ever there was a time to lose it this would be the year. But in the end the Bears, while a division foe and bitter rival, are irrelevant to the Packers in the grand scheme of things. This would be personal more than strategic. The Bears haven't been a real threat to the Packers for more than a season at a time since Favre took over. ####ing over the Vikings, now that's worth considering. But the Bears? Whatever.

Considering that if Green Bay was to take a complete dive in that game they likely face the same Bears the next week. But...this likely is going to be as good of a shot as Rogers has left to win a Super bowl and getting a bye and guaranteed home field is something he likely wants. Although, the mid term game is if you finish 2nd or 3rd you likely avoid Brady and Buccaneers in the Division round since they likely finish 5th and absolutely wreck the NFC winner. So unless Arizona or John Wolford and the Rams pull an upset you get Brady and a pretty talented Bucs team coming your way for the Division round.
It really is a conspiracy theorists dream this year.
The game to flex to Sunday Night, likely was the Rams and Cardinals since if the Bears win than the Cardinals win would eliminate the Rams and get them in. If the Bears lose, the Cardinals need to win to get in. At least Washington might have feel good story Alex Smith to play in that game. If 10% of Football fans know who John Wolford is, I'd be pretty suprised.

I dont see Chicago keeping Trubisky long term. I think right now Chicago would have to win a round for Nagy to keep his job, Chicago tries to sign Truniaky to a 2-3 year bridge contract, and who knows with Pace.. there is rumour he may be promoted to Jerry Angelo's role.
At this point there really isnt any other option, seeing as the Bears cant get into the top 5 for a draft pick with their current standing, so aside from trading for a vet QB on a struggling team ( Ryan, Stafford) what choice do they really have?

The fear is if the Bears lose earlier in the day, the Rams would rest players and let the Cardinals get in. That's unfair to the Bears to have to play first.
There really shouldn't be a night game this week. Washington/Philly is really pushing it. I don't even like the day split, all games should be played at 4:25 ET

Gostkowski is on the Covid reserve, he’s been awful, but it’s the rest of the team I’m worried about.

I've never been a Newton fan but it's kind of sad watching his decline. I could have completed that last throw on the run and he put it right in the dirt not even giving the receiver a chance. I wonder if he contemplates retirement as what team is going to bring him in for anything else but a backup QB? He could prolong his career as a backup QB change of pace QB but he's never going to be the guy again.

Yeah he could go the RG3 route and backup a running QB (Allen, Murray) but he looks like he’s done

To be fair to Cam, New England probably has the worst collection of skill position players in the league. This offense looked like poo under Brady last year, and Brady might put up 40 TDs for Tampa this year. The Patriots managed to survive for years with substandard offensive weapons because Brady could lean on Edelman, Gronk, the receiving RBs, who together made the dink and dunk offensive scheme unstoppable. With those three areas now gone or in decline there's just nothing to work with. It's a credit to the scheme all those years that the only period they had truly elite receivers were the Moss-Welker years, otherwise it's been Edelman and replacement-level guys.
But yeah that doesn't explain his inability to be able to even complete basic passes in the route tree. His arm looks shot and so does his confidence. I don't even think he'd be able to get high paying backup money at this point and you do wonder if he'll want to spend 5-7 years as the clipboard guy making $2 million a year (first world problems as it's finest right there lol).

Maybe Justin Jefferson would have balled out with the Bills too, but they can't be too disappointed with how well the Diggs trade has worked out for them.

OJ rushed for 2,000 in 14 games and has two bodies on him, that record at least is untouchable regardless of any changes to games played.

The eulogy of the Patriots on MNF is wonderful. I don’t like him but shows how many cracks Brady papered over.

It’s hard to say. Because Brady has been both really pedestrian and great in TB.
That team with Brady this year isn’t making the playoffs.

I have to think that there is a lot of pent up vengeance in the AFC East where teams will want to routine beat the Patriots as badly as possible given the 20 years of torture that most of them endured. Bills look really good right now, they seem to be firing on all cylinders going into the playoffs.

That was so great. Loving watching Allen and Diggs. They've got some real chemistry.
Now what do the Bills do next game? Since the 2nd seed isn't a bye I don't see the point of risking guys getting hurt. Maybe let the big guys play for the first quarter then get them out of there.

Yep this win secured no worse than 3rd seed and dodging the Chiefs in the second round of the playoffs (if they get there, of course). Allen and Diggs also waltzed into the Bills record books. Not much point risking injury to the big guns.

3rd seed means playing Baltimore in the first game win basically means playing Miami. Seems like a good enough reason to play and win.(assuming the Steelers win)
