#AHLHeat announced today that they have signed forward Jessey Astles and goaltender Doug Carr.
Astles is a 6'2" 205lb left shooting LW. He's fresh out of the WHL where he played for Kelowna, Saskatoon and Tri-Cities recording 22G, 21A and 363PIM in 261 games.
Carr has spent the last 4 years with UMass-Lowell and played 12 games this year with an 8-2-2 record with a 1.80 GAA and a .936 SV%.
“Ending the season the way I did with Calgary,” says Cundari, who made four appearances, recording three points, in April, “my expectations were high in terms of feeling that I should get a shot. I think, if anything, that (mindset) kind of hurt me because I went in there feeling that I deserve this, I deserve that — which is never an attitude you should go into anything with.
“I definitely learned my lesson from that. Stay humble, stay grounded. Don’t worry about the politics of the game. Don’t worry if you get sent down, called up, whatever may happen.”
Article goes on to say he showed up to camp out of shape. Plans to focus on cardio this off season to avoid the same problem in this year's camp.

Good that he has figured that out. All part of growing up and learning what it takes. Sometimes kids lose their focus or get the wrong attitude or whatever. That happens. What matters is: can they figure it out and bounce back?
Another reason why you need a good development system and a good culture.

if anyone doesn't remember him, he was with Saskatoon last year when they did the TV show leading up to the memorial cup and he had a horrific wrist injury.

Looks promising. Milwaukee appears to be leading the season series and during a recent 3 game weekend series appear to have handed the Hogs their behinds sweeping it 3-0 and out scoring them 20-10, including an 8-3 and 6-2 win for the Admirals.
