I'm not a realtor but a friend of a friends second cousin. Markstrom has been traded and CP's own rec league goalie bc-chris is signed to replace Marky in the lineup. Details to follow soon.

Nemec + Holtz and or + 1st would be good.
Otherwise Mercer all day.

Mercer. Center is the most important position if they want to be competitive next year.

That makes sense. Jack Hughes, the 48-year-old accountant from Vancouver who is also a beer-league goalie, will replace bc-chris on that roster.
Condolences to bc-chris's teammates!

No chance of getting 2 of the 3. For me:
1) Mercer
2) Nemec
3) Holtz
because we have no Cs under 30 - I recognize that Nemec may be the better player.

As a non drinker bc- chris bribes Conroy with his home cooking and Hughes is quickly dispatched to the Wranglers. Revenge is best served on a hot plate. And yes his cooking is really that good

Hanifin for Nemec, Markstrom for Mercer.
Call it a deadline.

Many owners will not? It seems almost every team in the league is at near or over the cap most of the time. The only time they go under is when they are selling off and rebuilding/retooling.
I think the idea that there's a bunch of teams not willing to spend to the cap when they are competing for the playoffs and beyond isn't really much of a thing anymore.

Nemec is completely untouchable. That is a top pairing, all situational right handed defensemen within the next two years.

Taking the positional need over a 2nd overall pick D who’s already playing 20 minutes a night as a 20 year old…
Add to that, they don’t want to be competitive next year. If they are, they lose their own 1st.

They are now because the cap has been flat for ages.

I would take Nemec all day over Mercer. Nemec was a 2nd overall pick in 2022 is a RHS D who has been averaging close to 20 mins a game. Nemec has top pairing, number 1 defenseman potential.
Mercer is a good player but he is a middle 6 forward, who possibly could play center.
This shouldn't even be up for discussion.

If given the choice its Nemec all day.
The reality of the matter is NJ will not trade Nemec so I don't know why we are hanging on to that fantasy.

And if mercer is a top line center? Also we have draft capital without doubt a new prospect will come in on defence. Get your point but looking at overall picture. Not to mention i dont think nemec is part if any deal. Could be wrong though?

Nemec over Mercer all day, every day. I would be floored if he is available and would be an absolute steal by Conroy. Nemec is a right-shot, franchise-type defenseman. The kind of anchor you never want to trade away.
Mercer is fantastic but on a contending team, he is more of a 2C or even 2RW.

Nemec is probably as untouchable as an asset as it gets for NJ. I personally wouldn't even put it in the realm of possibility unless the Flames add on a lot more
