I guess the local park vagrants arent averse to some high-stakes Chess!
Dammit Jim! They're bums playing Chess in the park in the middle of the day! They're basically Hobos! How much money do you think they have?!?
You basically cleaned out that one guy's monthly Old Age Security payment! Have you no shame??

That episode was a dud. Also making space Hitler a retroactive canadian is somewhat offensive lol.
What bothered me was the obvious commercial inserts in this episode. Shopping at the bay? Car chase in a souped up dodge challenger?
Also another fan fiction level insert of khans descendent in female form making out with alternate timeline kirk... makes me feel like some of the writers are taking bits from their personal late night hard drives.

I didnt love the episode, but Genetically Engineered Canadian Space Hitler from 1996 is pure Star Trek schlock and I love it!
Of course the bastard is from Toronto. One of the worst Genocidal maniacs in Galactic history and he hails from the Big Smoke.
Fitting.
The next time there is an iteration of Khan on screen, be it big or small, he should be eating poutine and wearing a toque and a Canada Goose jacket. Just lean right into it!
"Gonna take o'er da galaxy eh?"

Don’t forget Roots clothing! The James Kirk actor is awful… reminds me of a mix of Bill Hader and the guy from Murdoch Mysteries. Just a random actor that shares no similarities with Shatner… It was still cool to see Star Trek in Canada though.

I wouldnt say he's awful, but as I said earlier in the thread...he's not selling me on being Kirk.

Oof that episode sucked, for all the issues mentioned above and that it commits the cardinal sin: It was boring.

They tried to do something interesting in terms of the whole alternate time lines thing.
The problem, is that Star Trek at times has over relied on it, and its difficult to get right.
This one had the whole Ernest effort for a poor script. The characters and actors also really couldn't cover a whole episode themselves.
I also didn't want to see Kahn as an innocent child. I know the old saying that Hitler was someone's child. Or Stalin was someones child. The difference was that Kahn was engineered to be a solution to the worlds problems, as were his brother's and sisters. I don't want some nose picker, bad drawer showing up. I'd want them to walk into Kahn's room and stumbled on him dissecting a pet. Or cleaning a gun. Or slowly tying up his pony tail.

While not nearly as excellent as those first two episodes, I still enjoyed this one quite a bit. The actor who plays Kirk is good, and I'm really liking La'an as a character.

That last episode was... okay. I'm honestly really really tired of any media production set in Canada leaning reeeeeeeally hard into cringy Canadian stereotypes. It's so tiresome and boring.
I will give them this:

They had me going with that clip from the season 2 trailer, and I was pleased to see that this was a cheeky reference in an alternate reality.

I realize that this is entirely academic, but also, can we point out the absurdity of a lake ontario bridge crossing? How would this benefit anyone? Particularly, how would this benefit global cooperation between the two of the most already cooperative nations on the planet?
Felt like this plot point, among the many, was extremely flimsy. 1. why is anyone building that?
2. why does anyone care that it gets blown up?

They could have used the Gordie Howe bridge, an actual under construction bridge right now that will take it's rightful place as the heaviest traffic border crossing in NA once completed, and is a long standing symbol of international cooperation (the OG is still named the AMBASSADOR bridge for this very reason.)
Why not use the actual bridge instead of inventing a completely new, pointless, and strange bridge. Where would the bridge even go from Toronto?? You save virtually no driving time by just sweeping down through hamilton and around if Niagara-on-the lake is the goal.
0 sense.

Wait they're building a bridge called the Gordie Howe bridge?
Christ this country really is a bunch of memes.
