I guess the noticeable smell and visibility were not as big an indicator of a bad AQHI than I thought either.

Looked at the AHQI and it said 4, so the family went out for a walk. Took about 10 minutes for us to turn around. Rechecking the AHQI showed a 9 suddenly.
I think I prefer a cold and damp May long weekend to this.

I'm visiting family in Athabasca, yesterday was the worst smoke I've seen anywhere ever. It's a little bit better today.
I'm hearing it's back to being bad in Calgary? Worse than Tuesday morning?

The sun is out now and it seems a bit better over the last 30 minutes. Strange, because there doesnt seem to be any wind.
The forecast for tomorrow is for a south wind, so hopefully that is good news.

If you can see it, it's smoky
If you can smell it, it's really smoky
If you can taste it, it's fkn smoky

The dividing line is the mountains. It was very clear this morning, if you’re seeking reprieve
The effects are so widespread- it was smoky Denver where I was yesterday from these fires, and smoky below the entire flight from Denver to Calgary.

It is really tough to be outside today between the smoke and the heat it is just miserable out there. I thought I might be able to mow my lawn and clean up my garden but I was outside for 5 minutes and had to call it quits.
