This is good, I mean, he bought a house in Palm Beach, Florida for 41 million, sold it to a Russian for 95 million 3 years later in a down market, and the Russian demolished the house. It wasn't even 25 years old.
That story always stuck out in my mind as obvious money laundering, the kind of thing Trump gets away with constantly. Had it been anyone else there would have been multiple investigations.

Now confirmed, Senate Intelligence Committee invites Comey to testify as a private citizen. It's not clear if Comey is going to appear though.
Quote:
Reports said Senate Intelligence Committee chairman Richard Burr, a Republican, and Democrat ranking member Mark Warner, said they had asked Mr Comey to appear before the committee next Tuesday.
It was not immediately clear whether Mr Comey would accept the invitation, or if the testimony would be public or closed.

White House now calling what Comey did an atrocity.
Deputy White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said ousted FBI Director James Comey’s actions in the FBI’s investigation of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server were “atrocities” that justified Comey’s abrupt firing.

WASHINGTON – Senator Richard Burr (R-NC), Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, and Senator Mark Warner (D-VA), Vice Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, announced that Senate Select Committee on Intelligence today issued a subpoena for former National Security Advisor Lieutenant General Michael Flynn. The subpoena requests documents relevant to the Committee’s investigation into Russian interference with the 2016 election. The Committee first requested these documents in an April 28, 2017 letter to Lieutenant General Flynn, but he declined, through counsel, to cooperate with the Committee’s request.

The anger behind Donald Trump's firing of FBI Director James Comey on Tuesday had been building for months, but a turning point came when Comey refused to preview for top Trump aides his planned testimony to a Senate panel, White House officials said.
Trump, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had wanted a heads-up from Comey about what he would say at a May 3 hearing about his handling of an investigation into former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server.
When Comey refused, Trump and his aides considered that an act of insubordination and it was one of the catalysts to Trump’s decision this week to fire the FBI director, the officials said.

Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal appeared on CNN last night where he said that Trump’s actions present “a looming constitutional crisis that is deadly serious", and that the White House's reason for firing Comey (Clinton emails) is "laughable".

So of course Trump went nuts with rage this morning and threw a fit on Twitter. God he's such a f'n child.

Democrats should make a deal for confirmation. Confirm whoever as long as a special counsel is assigned to continue the investigation. Then see if any republican senators actually do want a proper investigation.

I can't believe how thin-skinned Trump is. I would expect this from a South American dictator, but not from the President of the most powerful country in the World.

Now these poll numbers are after healthcare, but before Comey. If he doesn't dial the insane back soon, 30% might be only a few weeks away. The second number is perhaps more amazing though.

If I'm reading those charts correctly, I think the more interesting trend is that finally some of his Strong Approve numbers (which have been rather flat) are starting to see some downward pressure.
