And he can be directly assigned by the Flames to the Heat as not only is his season over, but he fullfills the 4 completed seasons in the CHL as he had one game in 2010-11 and per the CHL rules, that counts as a season.

He actually can't be assigned by the Flames the Heat yet. He needs to sign an ATO first. Flames own his rights but do not have him under any form of contract.

How interesting, I'm liking all this movement in the AHL, bodes well for the future.
Anything of note about either player? Valcourt looks to be reasonably solid running at close to PPG in his last 2 WHL seasons, he's also kind of big at 6'2 & 216 pounds

Valcourt was only close to PPG in his last season (I suspect you are mixed up looking at his time split between two teams as two different seasons).
CHL Overagers at a PPG pace is really nothing to get excited about.

Seems like he was brought in for his truculence. I know nothing about him personally but if you YouTube his name all the videos are of him fighting. Just a spoiler alert, but in the top video result he gets it handed to him pretty good.

Nice to see an influx of natural wingers. So many of our C's are playing wing. Perhaps some of them can now move back to C and we can have these winger's slot in and everyone can play at their natural position.
