I would MAYBE offer up 3/4 if Stenberg and McKenna are gone.
Verhoeff is gonna be a stud but so are guys like Tij and Misa.
I’d definitely think about it if Utah or SJ called

Wow that's a fascinating scenario to consider.
If you miss out on the top 2 wingers, do you offer pick 3/4 to Utah for Tij?
I'd strongly consider it. Position aside, I think Tij has a higher ceiling than Lawrence or Malhotra easily.
If Utah is that enticed by Verhoeff, maybe you do it.

Its certainly debatable...if they are trying to get more though they are just squeezing you for the name. At that point I would make the pick, they can come crawling back later in the summer if they want.

Yeah I would've thought it'd be nowhere near Hughes, but depends how much another team needs a centre, and also whether they think Petey can get back to being a top 10 centre.
Anyway, point I was making is this is a seller's market and there are probably a few teams out there, on top of the central teams, who probably think there's enough parity that they could make a real tilt with Kadri as 3C or Coleman in the top 9.

I don’t feel guilty about anything, and you were totally in the wrong for threatening to call the police on me. I responded to you this time because you were saying something too idiotic to ignore.
How does it feel to be so consistently ignorant?

No one is giving us a 1st for Frost lol. He looked great the last few games, but ultimately he is probably closer to a 3rd liner on a good team.
The people arguing with you have a point though. You turn on every Flames player when they leave Calgary. Basically any Flames player is amazing and any non Flames player is horrible in Dino world.

You would trade a 4th overall and another 1st for Tij? I get it, his dad's a legend, but I don't think there's been enough progression since the draft that I would trade any more than the 4th overall for him, and that would depend entirely on who was left after the first 3 picks. Tij will be a great power forward, but I don't think he's going to be his dad. He might not even be a top 3 forward on a deep team. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have him as a Flame, but I think some people might be overvaluing him relative to other potential assets. And that might just be because of who his dad is. And I would worry that Conroy might overpay for him because of who his dad is.
Sign him as a free agent once he's had time to develop his game away from the pressures of following in his dad's footsteps in Calgary.

I could see Hanley a sneaky pickup for a playoff team. Cheap and a good depth D who can fill in higher when needed.

I recall Warrener saying Conroy would not pursue Tij out of respect to Jarome and the pressure it would place on the family. He said he got that directly from Iginla. Unless Utah came calling and dangled Tij in a can't turn it down deal, the Flames would not be interested in going after him.

Nope. If his name was Tij Farabee or Tij Smith, the interest would be substantially less. The name get's some on this board hard, not his performance on the ice. Parekh is a keeper, even if Iginla was offered up.

If you offer Parekh for Iginla straight up? Utah rejects. 100%.

I love Iginla, but he wasn’t the best forward on Team Canada never mind the entire tournament.

The idea that some people love Tij Iginla as a prospect because of the last name and last name only is foolish. There's a reason he was a late riser in his draft year and a reason he was drafted so high. No one is desperate to draft Joe Iginla right now. You like Parkeh more, fine, no problem, but don't dismiss the praise because of a last name. It's ignorant

Good heavens this iginla thing is getting ridiculous. Not a damn chance im giving up 4 plus because his last name is iginla. I called it in that draft itself why is everyone rating him way over a guy like Senecka? Seems im not the only one.
4 this year gives us Bjork, Lawrence or possibly one of the top three if someone decides to get smart. Just no wouldnt trade Lawrence for Iginla right across never mind add.

First off, UTAH isn't trading Iginla.
He's essentially the future face of that franchise, believe it or not he's probably their most untouchable asset.
To add to that Parekh is worth far more than Tij Iginla at this point, its absolutely crazy that someone said Parekh + a 1st for Tij given where both prospects are at. Its bananas how bad some have soured on Parekh this year because he didn't come in and instantly take over the game, and you wonder where all this pressure came from.
CGY fans may have soured on him, but league wise there'd be a plethora of teams ready to back a truck up and trade for Zayne knowing what he can do. But dont worry, the Flames aren't trading him either as he's likely one of a handful of untouchables on our roster at this point.
In trade related news, as I stated days ago the ball is firmly in Calgary's court as teams have been in talks with them for weeks now regarding the usual suspects.
I would agree that the trade deadline almost starts and stops in Calgary as they have a number of guys that would be top 5 on the trade bait board.
Kadri, Coleman at the top of that list.
Weegar, Whitecloud the next tier down.
Lomberg, Pachal, Hanley, Frost, Farabee after that.
CGY wont move both Whitecloud and Weegar, but both have a ton of interest if CGY wants to get serious about moving one.
Was told that so long as the offers are fair market value, belief is both Coleman and Kadri will be dealt.
CGY needs to move a d-man, too many bodies and CGY wants Bruz up with the club to finish the year

So Hockey Canada selects a losing team, then feels they have the right and authority to decree the "best players" of the tournament.
