Yeah the plot was poorly executed, but the ending was done well IMO. As a Star Wars fan it left me wanting more.
Spoiler!
Osha delving into the dark side so much it corrupts the Kyber crystal in Sol's lightsaber. wow
I feel like the flaws and hypocrisy of the Jedi need to be explored more. Also would like to see live action Sith training.
And of course exploring one of the most mysterious Sith Lords in Star Wars lore. Darth Plagueis. Yes I know there was a book, but I didn't like it and I want a different take on the character.

I like the Plagueis book, if there's one thing it showed is that Plagueis was a complete bastard.
I'd like to see a Sidious Plagueis buddy cop like movie.

I really thought it was a largely successful show, except for the actress playing Vanestra, she really was terrible. I rarely lay these things at the feet of the actors. I think usually when people bash the acting they are being hyperbolic, or there is a lot of blame at the feet of the writers and production crew, but the show withered and died every time she appeared on the screen. She had this weird neck posture thing that was meant to invoke contemplativeness but really just mad her look unconfident and undecisive. Second they did a really poor job of motivating the Jedi, they just didn't make us sense their fear the girls were in danger and told us about their guilt around the witches deaths but did not make us feel it, if we left this feeling they were motivated by fear and guilt, then we would understand that they had let themselves become slaves of the dark side (I also think it would have been better for Sol to redeem himself before his death by reaching this realization too, ala Vader).
But in retrospect they were trying to do exactly what the prequels were meant to do and failed at, they motivated a jedi trained force user to turn, and made you believe it happened. And that we could follow Oshas story from the falsely accused innocent sister to the acolyte makes the story telling really successful.
The action was great, this is the type of action Star Wars should have, it's this retro-futuristic analog-punk dog fights, and wire work air bending sword fights.
And while many of the Characters were spotty at best, Qimir and Sols characters really worked, and the sisters characters were fine vehicles for the story.

Wow I'm surprised you didn't like the book. I think it's one of the strongest EU books, especially late EU. One of the better Star Wars books out there imo.

I'd really like to see more Sith Lore (shows, books etc) in Star Wars because I think it's an insanely interesting aspect of the franchise, but I just do no trust Disney. They will find some way to neuter it and to demolish any semblance of lore for the sake of their mediocre throwaway stories.
There's just been too much contradiction of the lore established in the core six movies for me to care about anything Disney puts out anymore because there's no stakes. Impaled by a lightsaber? No problem! (Sorry Qui-Gon).
But that's okay, not everything is for me.

I'm a big fan of Sith Lore, As nerdy as it sounds, I have a ton of books on it, in terms of Legends EU, with the book of the Sith, and the Sith versus Jedi Handbook. I also have the Plagueis book and the Bane Trilogy (Still one of the best pieces of Star Wars fiction out there.
One thing that the Nu EU hasn't done is really do the deep dive into the Lore, they've made lots of changes to it, and in doing so removed a lot of really interesting parts of it.
Changing Korriban to Morriban isn't a big deal, but it was just weird at the time.
The whole blood staining the crystal to make a light sabre, was cool I guess, but in the Legends EU, the Sith created artificial red crystals that they claimed were better then the natural crystals that the Jedi used.
Disney removed huge chunks of the Legends EU that they really should have kept, like the Brotherhood of Darkness vs the Army of Light, they reduced Bane to basically a 5 line character.
I would love to see a exploration of the Sith, I was hoping in Legends EU after the success of the Darth Bane Series that we could get Darth books to link Bane to Sidious and even beyond, as even in Legends after Bane we had Zannah, and then a few named Sith Lords without a deep biography.

That Darth Bane Trilogy is so good. Such a shame that was all wiped out by Disney.

Some of the cheesy writing and acting is something I expect when we are dealing with space wizards, so from my perspective only episode 3 could have been dropped as everything else was enjoyable.
Venestra I think was supposed to be unlikable, she seems to be the embodiment of what was wrong with the Jedi order politically. I did like that she called Sol selfish at the end though.
Spoiler!
Osha force choking Sol to death was fantastic, very believable given how long Sol had been lying to her. The lightsabre turning was so cool to see on screen too.

Sol might have been an individual problem for the JEdi, but Venestra truly represents the rot in the Jedi order that will lead to its downfall.
I would love to see a scene of Yoda force choking the crap out of her for hours because she's lied to everyone.
Venestra - "Gaaaah choke, sobbing breath"
Yoda - "Need a break do I, Fingers cramping they are"

In spite of two dreadful, nearly unwatchable episode, I quite enjoyed The Acolyte on the whole. It was loads better than Obi Wan, Ashoka, and Boba Fett.
It's refreshing to move away from the Skywalker era, and I'll take what I can get if it's something new. But I fear they're gonna drag us back in that direction after the end of The Acolyte.
Most frustrating to me was that it seemed to dance close to upsetting the Jedi/Star Wars philosophical apple cart but didn't end up going even as far as The Last Jedi, felt like they chickened out a bit.

Oh man just found out about this.. like $600 US. I don't really like the composition though, them both jumping in the same direction just looks weird. I still am really tempted.
