Andersen has been the Ducks best player.
I might think that he's the last player they would trade right now.

That is true.
I've heard for some reason though, the Ducks don't think very highly of him. Could be rumors though.

Playing the victim card isn't going to change why you're wrong.
It was very simple: Your spite towards Iginla made you infer we don't need another top six goal scorer because we have trouble defensively... completely oblivious to the fact we have more than one problem that can be addressed. Just because we need to shore up play in our own end doesn't mean we don't need a goal-scorer in our top six if a deal makes sense.
When you didn't like I called you on that, you ignored what I said about only making a trade for a goal scorer if it made sense and sensationalized by mentioning Kessel and Nash etc.
Instead of playing the victim card, take a step back and look at how your bias effects your outlook. It was pretty obvious.

Isn't Andersson a UFA at the end of the year?
I wouldn't trade anything for him without an extension in place. The season is already lost.

For the record I don't think it's the least bit feasible Iginla ends up back here with how well he's played for the Avs. Not to mention it seemed important for him to settle somewhere with his family at his age.
Regardless, it must have been fun for a couple of the long time haters who've posted recently in this thread seeing him light it up tonight. He's going to end up with 30 goals (or close to it) yet again. That kind of consistent scoring is tough to come by.

1-5-2, but a 2.05 GAA and .935 SV%..... we'd have a winning record right now with those stats in net.

His stats wouldn't be near that good on the Flames IMO.
He wouldn't look like a blooper video from the 80s like our current guys do but I suspect Anaheim's defense is better than our tire fire, so that should be taken into account.

Hard to believe at this point that prior to the season's start we had a "top 5" defense on paper...

What he did tonight has nothing to do with valid criticisms about his play in recent years. But enjoy that "told ya so" post no matter how irrelevant it is

Disagree. What he did today (and is doing this season) is what he's done with consistency for nearly 15 years, and that's score goals a 30 goal per season clip.
That's just as important now as it has been all along.
The select few who've irrationally hated him here for years (one of them who just thanked your post within seconds) talk about him at present like he's a useless washed up floater. We saw first hand tonight, that is far from the case.

No they don't. As usual you choose to exaggerate and misrepresent the opinions of those that disagree with you.

Meh, it's semantics. The people I'm talking about definitely regard him as largely as a useless player at this stage, and degraded him even when he was still here and putting up 30-40 goals. Their collective history of unrelenting negativity towards him speaks for itself.
At 38, he's going to have holes in his game. But 30 goal scorers are extremely rare and I think tonight was a good look at how much game he has left in him, even at this stage in his career.

Florida seems to be close to putting it together with all their young talent so I can't see them looking to downgrade in net. Too bad though, it would be worth it for Lou's Twitter comments alone if it happened.
I think it might have been Derek Wills on the Fan a few weeks ago who suggested the Flames might kick some tires on Schnider from Jersey. They are in a position where they're years away from contending again and that with that taken into account they might listen to offers. Probably an unrealistic option though, as the cost would likely be too hard to swallow.

There has to be good-enough goaltending available on the market for cheap that could spark the team.

I don't think this has been brought up yet, but it all makes sense now on why we were looking at trading for Talbot and Lehner at the draft.
Treliving is some kind of wizard.

No offense but wizards don't pay $8.3m for two bum goalies.

While I agree they are overpaid, no one here had a problem with either one when the season started. I'm pretty sure they would look good again this year if they had anything that resembled a defense infront.

I'm pretty sure they would look bad if they were on any other team. All of our goalies have let in a lot of bad goals, not some, not the occasional but a lot of bad goals. Other teams just shoot from wherever because the goalies are horrible. It's hard to play defense when a guy gets a weak shot off from a horrible angle and it goes in.
I hope the team starts to capitalize on other teams that want to make knee jerk reactions and can turn some players into future assets. As much as some on here want to rag on everyone on the team, the Flames do have a few players with good trade value.
