So would that td have counted under 2 minutes in the game? Isnt there a new rule where forward fumbles, and recovery by the same team, dont count after 4th quarter 2 minute warning?
Or am i nuts?
Edit- here is the rule:
"A fumbled ball may be recovered and advanced by either team (except, in American football, after the two-minute warning in either half or 4th down, when the fumbling player is the only offensive player allowed to advance the ball, otherwise the ball is ruled dead at the spot of recovery if the ball bounces backwards or spotted at the point of the fumble if the ball travels forward)."

Not the worst thing in the world for the Texans. They get totally blown out and it's a huge wake up call. The playoffs still go through them in the AFC right now and homefield makes all the difference in the world. No doubt the media is going to overreact tomorrow and we will hear about the irrelevant power rankings and the best team in the AFC being the Pats. It's an incredibly impressive performance tonight, but it's just one game.

that would be the stupidest rule ever, i'm assuming you are nuts.. but i guess there are stupid rules in the nfl like that challenging when there is an automatic booth review negates the booth review and costs you a timeout and challenge....
edit - i guess i shouldn't be shocked, but i guess there is one, and i don't think it's a new rule "American football the offense cannot advance the ball if it recovers its own fumble on fourth down, or in the last two minutes of the game, unless the ball is recovered by the fumbler"

I know you are a Patroits homer but without a doubt seems a little strong. I think they have the highest potential of any AFC and if they are at their best they are the best but their games against Miami last week, Seattle, Arizona etc. show they still have some big weaknesses. Even this game could be very different if Jackson makes the easy fumble recovery.
They may be the best but not without a doubt.

Not sure if you mean University of Tennessee as he was tied to that job a lot but they already hired the coach from Cincinatti. Havne't heard him linked to the Titans if that is what you mean.

Very true. Last time we got blown out on national TV we responded with 6 wins in a row. If we can repeat that it ends up being a pretty decent season..

No kidding. This doesn't mean that the Texans aren't a good team. They're still one of the top two teams in the AFC. And hey, a loss to New England is nothing to fret over. It happens to everybody.

I never understood the love for Gruden. He seems like he'd be a great college RAH RAH type of coach but is his professional pedigree anything more than winning a superbowl with Dungy's players?

I wouldn't say the Pats have big weaknesses, they're just not as good as some people may make them out to be. As in, they're still beatable, it will just take a very strong effort to beat them. And thanks for the heads up re: Tennessee hiring a new coach. Rumors were so strong about Gruden going there before, guess not.

He seems to know the game incredibly well, he did really well with the Raiders. People overrate and underrate coaches for reasons that make little or no sense, so who knows if he's good. He would have to change up his style a little bit as I remember he did have an incredibly massive bias towards veterans over young players.

Except the NY Giants!
I think Houston will still be the #1 seed heading into the playoffs. I don't see my Colts winning @ Reliant Stadium next week unfortunately.
I see the seeds going:
1. Houston
2. New England
3. Denver
4. Baltimore
5. Indianapolis
6. Pittsburgh
If that is the case, Houston would still be in the AFC Championship game against the Denver-New England winner IMO.

This win would be 10x more satisfying if it was over the Jets or Ravens.

He's more than that. He should have won the 1st Super Bowl that Brady won (tuck rule) and then the following year he took Dungy's players and beat his own players (Raiders) in that Super Bowl.
He's just not rah rah, he's tactically amazing.

If by "bias towards veterans" you mean "collected QB's like Pokemon" then yes, I agree.
I looked up his career record and it's not terrible I guess I just figure if he was such a great coach people would have knocked his door down long ago to get him back on a team and out of the TV booth.

I tried to be humble, but then I realized that it's more fun to be a blatant homer.
