Why can't a local, Alberta amateur team qualify for it, in the same way the amateur teams from Quebec & Ontario can?
ie; Challenge Cup Trophy winner.
For example, Callies 10 years ago had a formidable team, that won it a couple times.
Why not make them a qualifier for the 2020 Voyageur Cup, considering the Challenge Cup, starts today.
Seeing as League One in Ontario sends a team to the Challenge Cup, and that they're definitely not above the other teams that go in terms of skill level, I would agree. Would make the Voyageur Cup much more like the FA cup...root for the lil' guys! Scottish is the cream of the crop in AB over the last 6-7 years, much like Callies was in the early-mid 2000's. They could definitely hang with CPL teams.

Exactly. Heck Tommy played with them back then.

And, as was debated early in the year, I think they have the pricing mostly right. I say this because I really don't think that they'd get 20% more people out if tickets were 20% cheaper to equal the overall revenue generated.
I don't think they'd do (or should do) 20% across the board. I think the 200s/400s are cheap enough that they'll sell out as season tickets, so doesn't seem like much incentive to discount them. I'd probably raise the prices on the ends slightly (inflation type raise), and drop the prices in the middle dramatically. By selling more tickets in the middle at lower prices, I think you'd be able to increase both your average number of tickets sold and increase your average ticket price.

I hate the Forge. I can already see how terrible this final is going to be, because that wasn't even close to offside. Cavalry are clearly the better team thus far.

Cavs controlling their destiny is so important at this point. I still think they should be 3 points up on the Forge because of the York9 debacle, and really should let that go! Regardless, at least the goal that was called back wasn't a factor tonight.
Two tough away games in Hamilton and between those we could sew up the Fall Championship and the league. Just pure dominance all year long!

I love how the solution to a frozen Lake Escalante was to shorten the field.
That was a cocky, cocky goal celebration by Forge. Nice to see them eat it.
The gluhwein was a nice touch to stay warm.
I think the Foot Clan outnumbered the Foot Soldiers tonight. To be fair, a bunch of them were probably tied up burning down Dairy Queen locations. We poured a melted blizzard over the curb in Balmoral to solemnly mark the win.

I don't know how but Malonga always seems to find himself wide open.
I know he doesn't have the best pace but he thinks the game at a very high level and always seems to put himself in dangerous areas. He's picked a good time to be in top form.

Yeah his problem in the middle of the season was he was dogging it in getting to those danger spots and looked generally uninterested.
He’s not going to burn any defenders with speed or a rocket shot, he has to be up in the play and give a target to his guys and simply he wasn’t doing that.
With some guys unavailable like Brown and Camargo, and Pebble very green, it also looked like he knew that he wasn’t going to be subbed.
But yeah, he’s got the touch and nose for the net, so if he gets the service that the wide players for the Cavs manage so well, he’s going to be vital the next 3 weeks as the game action gets a little more “basic” in the cold conditions.

Brown and Malonga work well together as well. Brown creates that chaos on the wing and Malonga slides into the cracks and scores. He should have had 3 today, terrible offside call on his first goal.

I’ve really liked Brown on the wing. He offers a lot and never stops running. He’s forced a lot of errors out of defenders simply by not giving up on a ball
