I played at Edmonton Golf and Country Club, where Gretzky was a member, and there were many older rich seniors walking the course. I walked it also, and my 2 youngish friends were in a cart, I was embarrassed for them. It's not that hard of a walk at all, which I think is some of the attraction for the older richer seniors.

Yes. That’s what carry means. Unless you bring your own push cart you have to carry.

I thought it was pretty clear just no rental carts or pull carts...

I’m a member out at Cottonwood and word on the street is a possible mid May opening, 12 minute t times with a 4 some. Member pull carts only or carry, no range, no clubhouse and only food or beverage pick up. I’ve heard of some kind of no touch pin contraption as well.

I’m actually looking forward to the 12 minute spacing if that’s true. Not that CW played slow in the first place, but that means 3 hour rounds. I can “work from home” (on course) and get 5 rounds a week in lol.

Have they installed a cell tower there yet?

The one round I have played there I had basically no reception the whole round and it caused havoc in the field.

Nope. It’s awesome when I hide from the wife.

You do get reception in one or two spots if you REALLY need it though. I ran a conference call by the maintenance shed last year so it can be done.....I just prefer to pretend I can’t.

If my course opens mid May, I can potentially play two rounds a day. I can work more if it rains and less if it is sunny outside. I could play record total number of rounds this year because of this.

Paul Bakhmut, Kenney's communication assistant, posted the following on Kenney's facebook feed today answering a question on when golf courses will reopen. Looking good for a possible May Long opening.
=========================================
As the Premier said in the most recent Q&A, our golfers have made a strong case. It's easy to open golf courses sooner than other things – and this will be part of our gradual plan to reopen that will be announced this week.
See full response from the Premier on golf courses here (starts at 48 min 15 sec):

So, i don't know what to read into this, but my mother in law sent me a text this morning saying "big news coming - today? expect to be golfing by Victoria Day.

don't know how to read this, the "?" throws me off, but she does spend a good chunk of her day watching 2 tv's at once, one with CBC news and another with faux news, so... maybe CBC news told her something.

May long seems likely but could it even be May 1? I must be hallucinating.

From what I’m reading on Calgary Herald, golf courses can open starting May 4 if they keep clubhouses and pro shops closed
