Finns up 4 - 1 after 2 periods. (Tolvanen, Somppi, Tuulola, Puljujärvi for the Finns, Andersson for Sweden.)

Tuulola is one to keep an eye on. Later round target for the Flames?

Final score 6-1 for the Finns. Puljujärvi with the last three goals, although honestly after 4-0 the game was pretty much over.

Ranked 19th among European skater by central scouting, so possible 2nd rounder I guess. Big RW (6'3, 225lbs). Yeah I could see that happening.

Finnish coach just mentioned that Puljujärvi has been so sick he threw up earlier in the day. Playing through that and with an injured wrist, and puts up a hattrick in the final. Said it earlier, but the kids a fighter.

I almost want Puljujarvi over Laine.
Laine is the better finisher and is more physical. But I feel like Puljujarvi is more of that Hossa/Bergeron type of guy that really does it all in order to help the team win.

I almost want Laine over Puljujarvi because his name is a little easier to pronounce

Seems like a very weak group of Euro skaters this year. The guys ranked 6-10 might not even go in the 2nd round.

Just think of a Scotsman saying "pull your RV" really fast.

So Craig Button thinks Brown the big 6'6 centre for the US could go as high as top 5 this draft. He had a monster U18s and big centres don't last long.

I really hope the Flames don't try to be smarter than everyone with this draft pick.

LOL. What a stupid statement.
I really hope the Flames scout are smarter than everyone else with their draft pick. It's their job to be as smart about it and as prepared as they can be. EVERY team's scouting staff is trying to outsmart the rest.
You want them to be stupider than everyone with this draft pick?

Not that I think the Flames should go that route but the kid had one less point than William Nylander did, and had one more point in the U-18s.
Of course points aren't everything but the kid has done well enough that it doesn't seem like a stretch that he could be in that group of guys that could go in the 7-10 range.
Don't really feel like it would be the Flames trying to be smarter than everyone at all - think it's more that this draft is a crap shoot outside the top 3

I agree ...
You have to die by your own sword. You can't second guess things because of someone going higher, someone falling, or chatter leading up to the draft.
The Oilers tried the take the guy least expected to be there when it happens approach with Fraser locating in Mexico. It failed.

It's the idea that if 29 people think a player is a mid-first round pick, but 1 thinks he's a top 5, the collective is probably correct.
The same ruckus occurred when it was rumoured the Flames were really high on Nick Ritchie. How dumb would they have looked to have taken him at 4 over Bennett?
No need to take things so personally and mock posters. Calm down.

Lol, a little harsh but agreed. Screw the concensus, pick whom ever they feel is the brightest young prospect. If that choice comes with some criticism so be it.
