Looks like they fixed the ammo glitch with rocket launchers, so Iron Banner is now live instead of delaying it another week. The mode is control again.
If you didn't run in the last IB, they've fixed the drops in post-game, so the rewards are very much worth it to play, even if you don't think you'll get to rank 5. I got a ton of stuff last IB, and look forward to leveling up even further this time.

The rewards are dramatically better these past two iron banners! I've had more banner gear drops between these two, than all other iron banners I've played combined.
I'm rank 3.5 on my first character, and I've had 3-4 chest pieces at 334-335 and 2-3 arm pieces. No weapons yet though.

Several chest / arm pieces at 335. Couple special weapons (Ashravens/Sidearm) at 335 as well.

I'm basically playing to get the sidearm - I loved my V. Dynasty when HoW came out, but it was stuck back in year 1. The only year 2 sidearm I had was Dreg's Promise - I got all excited when it dropped, not really knowing what it was. Wow - it might be the worst exotic in the game.
Anyway - love IB and the drops seem good again. I'm even falling in love with bladebancer with Plan C again. I'm having a hard time adjusting to no trip mines, but still brings back the nostalgia of how I learned PvP.

I wish I could figure out how to play with fusion rifles, but my timing is always horrible.
I've been getting destroyed by the IB fusion regularly.

Man it's so easy to hit Rank 5 these days. I remember the first IB, where I had to grind it out for 4 days for hours on end just to get there. This week, I was only able to play yesterday. Sat there for 2 hours with my hunter, got her to Rank 5 easily. Mind you my weekly bounties were already half finished from last time, which helped.

I did get a pretty good roll on the IB sidearm, but I'm not a huge fan after using it. Maybe I'm trying to use it wrong, but I find the re-coil just kills me and I only land 3 or 4 shots before I'm shooting above someone's head. I found the Vestian much easier to control, so a bit disappointed with my current sidearm.
IB was still a blast though - plan C is probably my favorite PvP weapon right now, and bladedancer was a bunch of fun especially with people grouping around control points.

Link appears broken, but I assume it was the trailer for the Rise of Iron. Always exciting to see a new raid coming up! I don't mind the yearly paid DLC. Still better than the subscription model if you ask me, where you could be paying for a couple years without any new content.
Have to think carefully if I'm willing to pre-order for that special edition Gjallarhorn...
Destiny is still by far my favorite game. And well, I want that black ghally.
Watched the reveal and the new gear looks sweet. Pretty hyped about it.
I have already per-ordered it. Destiny is really the only game I play so for $30 bucks and a black G-horn I am in.
Just unsure if my kid will get a black G-horn or if I have to per-order for him. I suspect I will need to per-order again, If that is the case he can go without
