Which as much as we love power rankings debates during the season, it means little or nothing to hold that title right now. A Broncos/Patriots AFC Championship would be one for the ages, although I'm not ready to negate everything the Texans have done this season over tonight. They've got some key injuries, they've made a ton of mental mistakes. Patriots destroyed the Jets in a very similar fashion a few years ago and then got beat handily at home by those same Jets.

The fact that he should be behind bars right now and nowhere near a football field, makes him impossible to cheer for. Alhough I did use to like him during his Saints days a lot too.

I wonder if Gruden is back for MNF next season. I personally love him in the booth.

I agree with him! The PI calls and defenseless receiver calls just seem to be done at random this year.

The consensus seems to be that he is going to get a few offers in the off-season

I heart Gruden. I'm gonna be so sad when he finally takes a coaching job again. Can't believe he's even lasted this long. Dallas perhaps?

He continues to be tied to the Tennessee job. Not sure there are going to be many quality NFL positions available this offseason. He's got such passion for the game, you can only keep a guy like the in the announcers booth for so long.

Yuh, i was thinking of this as well.
The difference this year is that the Pats defense is actually starting to do something(and at the right time)- which hasn't been the case in a while. With Gronk healthy, I would put this offense up against 2007 offense. Edelman out sucks as he just had a few great weeks.

Dallas should have hired him 3-4 years ago.

100% agree on the Pats defense finally not being a push over. The Talib trade looks great, finally something resembling a shutdown corner. I do think we put to much stock into regular season wins, as if they somehow elevate a team over the other for the rest of the season. To small of a sample size in my opinion. But tonight's performance was incredibly impressive.
The one team that seems like it would be able to give the Patriots a shot for their money, are the Broncos. One of the best teams against the run, able to rush the passer, could get a big special teams play (a must to beat the Pats) and the one offense in the AFC that could match the Patriots offense. Pats did beat them this year although both are much different teams now, even the Pats have improved greatly from a game they played incredibly well in.
