Yeesh, got some thing on a brutal bullying incident for a Calgary youth hockey team where RCMP are involved. I’d post it but cannot figure out because I’m dumb. Someone smarter than me email me. Hockey is so plum full of morons.

Fata I hate this city. Just went to sev. I wanted some milk and kid wants an Oreo cone thing. Fine. Go to the freezer, now they lock them due to crackheads. Go and lineup for them to unlock. Huge lineup. Guy in front of me is doing that unload his pockets to pay for his smokes. He looks at me and like “what, I’m counting my change, you gotta a fataing problem” pushing me. I have never fought in my life. I’m trying to walk him down, I’m just standing here, “I don’t give a #### what you think ####er” he says. I just wanted ice cream.
I’m crying as I type this. I hate conflict like this. Just ordered a knife on Amazon. Something is wrong.

The fact is that society sucks right now.
I think Fotze2 handled it perfectly, especially in front of his kid.
Something IS wrong!

Sorry that happened to you man. I feel your pain.
I used to have the exact same issue (also at 7/11). The addicts would be in there counting out pennies to buy lotto tickets, while there are 7 people in line, and I'm just trying to get a slushie for the boy and I.
You'd sometimes have to step over someone sleeping on the sidewalk leaving the store, and inevitably they'd be panhandling. Once an a while they'd curse you out if you didn't give them anything.
Eventually I just bought an ice cream maker for the home, and haven't set foot in a 7/11 since.
I get the problems with the "war on drugs"... but I don't know if the current situation isn't worse. Is it really better to have someone mentally ill / addicted to drugs just roaming the street?
I don't feel safe around addicts, they've filled a lot of public spaces, I can't use public transit with my family, and I stopped going to the downtown parks because they became living spaces for drug users and the mentally ill.
I want to have compassion, but it gets beaten out of me every time a lunatic starts yelling at me for no reason.

This doesn't help Fotze's situation if the freezer is padlocked and he needed a store clerk to unlock it but 7-11 has introduced self checkout as of a year or so ago. No more waiting in line if it is long because most folks don't use the self checkout.

I’m not gonna tell you what to do with your body but maybe give it some time before you get a tattoo. You were asking in another thread about it, and I (and likely the artist as well) think getting tattoos when your emotions are all over the place is usually a bad idea. Put the idea on a shelf for a bit and come back to it later.

Except for the wait, it was pretty seamless. We just picked the location with the shortest wait time.

The passport office has to deal with a lot of people that have no idea what they're doing. Last time I was there there was one lady that asked the person to help fill out her application. She stood there for 45 minutes and asked over. And over. And over again. Until she finally understood that that she needed to get help elsewhere. There was another guy that didn't understand that he couldn't get a passport because he was visiting Canada. Yeah and he kept asking over and over.
Oh yeah and when I picking up my passport there was a guy that couldn't figure out why his passport wasn't there. Well dude, the person at the counter explained to you about 100 times that your passport wasn't ready yet.

And the inefficiency of the process... OMG! I had to drop mine off as it was about to expire. Can't fill it out online, have to print and fill out, fine. Get there, first thing the (wonderful) lady dd was re-type the information. I asked, she just shrugged. Then she scanned the ####ing thing. I asked if they had heard of OCR. Shrugged again. Then she took 2 minutes to get the tape, roll it in a little circle, then taped the pic to the special "pic form". I asked if they couldn't make the form with a little sticky there. Another shrug. Holy mother####ing #### it was a crazy, inefficient process. Then I asked why they don't have the phone in to hold your place in line like registries, so I could wait in my truck. She said they had it but got rid of it because SOME people DON'T HAVE PHONES!! So I have to suffer? #### you inefficient gov't boo-ok-crasy!!!

Them typing it in and also scanning makes perfect sense actually. OCR is not reliable, and certainly not for something like a passport.
