They gotta be a favourable extension city for Panarin too.

Coleman to DAL for their '26 1st. Would give us 2 picks in the 22-30 range (probably).

Carolina owns their 26' 1st

I appreciate the info, but seems like weird timing for San Jose

Rushing?! they've been a bottom team for the last 6 years!

Can’t see it they probably want to upgrade rd as they were after ras. Decent c depth with lindy/minten/zacha/poitras and middlestadt could play c too.
Could see them as a sneaky team for panarin. But Drury would be crucified trading him to the hated bruins.

The Sharks have also drafted Misa and Smith with top 4 picks and have Eklund. They should absolutely be trying to build around Celebrini and not risk wasting his prime years.
The Sharks could likely use an upgrade at defence, but drafting and developing a d-man typically takes years, and Celebrini is so good that they won't be drafting top 10 again while he's there. Top pairing d-men also become available a lot more frequently than franchise centres.
The obvious strategy for the Sharks is to run for it and then spend on a couple of top 4 d-men, either via free agency or trade.

There is no point in trading Frost, what would we even get for him? Maybe a 3rd or a 2nd if we are lucky. I would rather see him try to develop and improve his game.
Kadri is the center that makes the most sense to move, based on value and age.

He’s not gonna sign in San Jose lol, Sharks wasting their time again. Outside of a big overpay players are not going to give up being a free agent to sign in San Jose. California is not as desirable as it once was.

Lebrun just posted a video on the TSN app stating Panarin is looking for an extension with the deal and his representatives reached out to all 3 California teams to gauge interest. Ducks are out because they need to sign Carlson and others. Sharks are kind of in there according Lebrun and while the Kings want a center more they need goals and are monitoring the situation

Well could be wrong. Still think he only signs for a big overpay.

They have the same number of points as the team currently drafting 9th, just played less games. Their 11-3 OT/SO record shows they aren’t nearly as good as their record.

Lucky for the Sharks, they've got the space.
It's not out of question that Panarin could get a significant 3-4 year deal pay day. If he is unsuccessful with SJS for 3.25/4.25 years or whatever deal he signs with them, then he probably goes cup chasing afterwards at a heavily discounted cap. With that cap going up significantly nowadays, I'd argue he's going for a little more $. It's already hard enough to win a cup as is.

He's also a kid who was a Leafs fan growing up and played for the Leafs.
I'm pretty sure if I was in the NHL my NTC would have Edmonton on it too
If Carolina actually is an option that would be intriguing.
If you take back Kotkaniemi you don't need to retain any salary for sure. They have the 2026 Dallas 1st, their own in 2027, and in 2028 they have Dallas 1st and their Own.
Also some interesting prospects.
Charlie Cerrato, and Ivan Ryabkin as centers from last years draft - Cerrato is playing with McKenna at Penn State and having a good season, Rybakin is dominating the Q since being sent down there from the AHL.
Nadeau and Unger-Sorum are both gaving success in the AHL and the org does lack RH shots.
