You can probably get bullpen arms for just paying the salary for the rest of the season and a C level prospect from teams that are struggling.

You move nothing unless you're getting a guy with term that you like beyond this season.
This season was never intended to be a season they go for the play-offs in. That all starts next season. There's a reason they never addressed the starting pitching line up going into the year. The hope was one or two of the young arms would step in when called up and just never leave. Obviously Pearson was the expectation but if Manoah is that guy, then Manoah is that guy.
I don't think anyone expected to see MVP numbers from Vladdy or for Semien to pay off so huge, so I think some people are getting a little antsy like this is a team at the end of it's rope ala 2016/2017 and not a team thats rope is just starting.

The Jays were in on Odorizzi. They also kicked the tires on Bauer. It was an incredibly weak pitching market. The Jays then proceeded to sign Springer and a show me contract with Semien. That's a 50 million dollar investment for this season alone. They absolutely want to make the playoffs this year. And the fans should want that too.
This may be the beginning of the road for them, but success can be fleeting, and anytime you're given the opportunity to win you go for it. I don't think anyone is suggesting selling the farm. But letting go of some of your 20-30th ranked prospects and taking some contracts off the hands of sellers is more than reasonable.

You really have to see how the next month or so plays out before you even entertain picking up peices for a playoff run. as it stands jays ned to leap frog a few teams to even be a wildcard. See where they are in 25 games or so.

That Manoah slider looks lethal.

As long as the Jays don't sell any of the big pieces on the farm, I'm fine if they bring in some help, especially in the bullpen.
I'm OK if they choose to stay patient though too.

Terrible tag by Mcguire. This one might get overturned.

LOL, it was totally the wrong call on replay, but I'll take it.
But it shouldn't take anything away from Gurriel's throw. That was incredible. Again.

Think the Jays got lucky on that one!
He might have tagged him on the back foot before the front one got the plate. But that was huge. Why do runners still run on Gurriel???

Agreed thought for sure it would be overturned.
Either way it mayyyy be a good idea to stop running on Gurriel Jr.

It was definitely one of those plays they couldn't tell 100% that he missed the tag so the call had to stand. He was totally safe though.

They've sure been wasting some pretty solid starts from the starters lately it feels like.
Hopefully this team can start to fire on all cylinders at some point before they fall out of the race.

Lance Lynn and Carlos Rodon both with a ridiculous drop in ERA this year compared to their career avgs. Cherry picking the ERA but all their advanced stats mirror the exact same type of drastic change. No coincidence in SI's latest article about the sticky issue the White Sox have had the biggest change in spin rate in the AL. Please do something about this MLB. This is boring baseball.
