It's funny. People like to lampoon Benning over Tkachuk even though making that pick would've probably cost them Pettersen and Hughes. They are actually better off as a result imo. Tkachuk is a good player but the juice really isn't worth the squeeze with him. He's all about Matty and money and Tkackuk Inc. Plus he's a total side show and can't back up anything he says. Its like having a clown on the team sometimes

Lol OK. I like several players on the squad. Lindholm and Gaudreau are beauties. Monahan is underrated at this point. Tanev is good. But they've become a hard team to cheer for imo. They've been managed terribly for years and there's nothing to really be excited about going forward.

Honestly, Tkachuk is like a barking chihuahua playing on a vanilla team with virtually no upside. It's tiring and I can honestly hardly wait until he's gone. Let someone else pay $10m for 60 points and his grating personality. The whole notion of him as a captain is completely laughable.

Of course, there would be cause and effect.

But it is plausible enough they could maintain their general middling performance with however everything else shifted around. Maintaining middling drafting without the benefit of a darn near franchise level gem in the 4th would be awful. He is at least electrifying at time while many others are unspectacular

Feel free to go ahead and add something of value instead of being ridiculous about a passing remark. Unless you and your pals just prefer to keep talking about how other people post and high fiving each other

It was a terrible pick Benning deserves everything he gets. This Tkachuk hate is getting stupid

Does anyone else see the irony of someone with the username "TheoFleury" complaining about a player being a selfish, loud-mouth, side-show clown?

It's not hate. He needs to grow the #### up. Really great player but he needs to actually lead. Stop being a clown. He seems to be all about the money... I question if he even wants to be here. He oozes potential but he needs to focus. Let his play do the talking.

His comments regarding Brady really rubbed me the wrong way. Just the icing on top of some really immature selfish bs the last few years. His disappearing in crunch time I noted too. Time to step up Matty

Fleury was probably the most talented and exciting player ever to wear this jersey. Also totally damaged as a person, he had a brutal path in his life. 99% of people can't fathom his trauma. He's a complicated dude with a compelling story. I still root for him even as he pisses everyone off. He's a hero of mine. My favorite player growing up. I'm totally biased for sure. Tkachuk is a spoiled runt in my view. Silver spoon, born on third base and given every opportunity. Fleury is a warrior and a survivor. Totally different stories. Comparing them at all is disingenuous at best. Similar team breaking antics but at least know their stories. I give Fleury a huge break, rightly or wrongly. A lot of people would've straight up killed themselves. He willed himself to succeed and become an amazing player. Apples and oranges

I'm not as hard on Tkachuk as TheoFleury, but I have to agree that Theo Fleury was a fantastic player. As it stands now Tkachuk isn't fit to even be compared to him. Tons of potential, but he has a long, long ways to go before he is in the same conversation.

It's funny. I actually was a huge Tkachuk fan. I bought his jersey. He's crazy skilled with off the charts hockey IQ. Amazing pick at 6OA. But as we've gone along, he's just kinda become annoying. He's like a more annoying and entitled version of his dad. I'm not sure he's a winner. As it stands, he's definitely not captain material in my eyes. His ego is crazy. Time for him to grow up or just move on.

If Sutter can't mould him. No one can. I love Sutter honestly. I think He would get this team crushing wins with a top 6 of Eichel, Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Lindholm, Mangiapane and Dube. That is straight up sexy as hell

It is in fact not ironic in the least.

How about 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife?

I'd give Tkachuk a year without Gio as our captain before writing him off.

Not sure what you are getting at? Tkachuk plays better without Gio as Captain?
