Once the draft got going it sure seemed like the Andersson trade front went quiet. With free agency opening up on Tuesday, I am thinking that teams are going to want to wait and see how that market shakes out before committing to an Andersson trade.

My guess is that he did float himself around and maybe he got the feedback no GM sees him as a starter

Looks like that episode came out 3 days ago so news is probably 4 days old.
Conroy said they had an offer out to Vladar but it was Vladar’s right to test the market or something to that effect

Probably found out that there weren’t as many suitors for him as he thought.

Trying to start a fight? Look up the definition of the phrase broken record and tell me you aren't about Kadri. Why didnt you call out Royle for supposedly starting a fight by posting a gif mocking you beating the same old drum?
You can post whatever you want, people can respond however they want. You assume hostility when people are mostly laughing at your persistence on the topic. I will give you credit for being consistent though.

How many times do people need to be reminded...not going until next year at the earliest. Kadri has stated such and we all know that CC wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't check in again. Enough on a Kadri trade.

I was posting a rumor from a hockey insider who said teams are inquiring on Kadri. That is why it was brought up.

Absolutely trade Kadri right now while his value is high. Our window is in 3-5 years so get some younger assets that fit into that timeline.

Oh I get that, but honestly it's partly the way you posted it. Not putting out the link and just came across like you were rubbing others noses in it. Either way not worth the discuss when it is put out like this...No meat to it.

Toronto forfeited their ability to acquire impact players like Kadri for the foreseeable future when they blew all their first round picks on a #4 dman and a #3 center. Enjoy Carlo and Laughton.

Instead of trading Kadri, maybe we can send Rhett Trenutlicks to Toronto

Columbus just makes the most sense to me. They have good young centers with potential that they could trade including one that the flames were high on in his draft year (Sillinger). They can afford to trade a protected first round pick at this point. They are rumoured to be interested in a RH defenceman. They have had multiple former flames on the team. They have cap space to re-sign him.

If I may ask a question:
What argument would you present to Kadri who has expressed zero desire to leave in fact expressed to be a part of the future pain/success to waive the full movement clause he has negotiated and both sides agreed to abide by to go somewhere with a varying level of familiarity for himself and his family and leave a fan group that has done nothing but embrace him (mostly) without using cliches like "Its just business", "Hire'd to fire" or some other line that has no baring on the life of a person who has worked hard for the privilege they have earned and now enjoy?
I'm sure lots of us would be envious of that power of persuasion that is shared among folks that share a viewpoint that seem to think fans and owners take presidency over their commitment to teammates, community, personal goals and family.

Your avatar has that power of persuasion. ‘Silence! I kill you!’ It works every time. Well, most of the time it works every time, occasionally, some of the time, from time to time.

Unfortunately Andersson will be moving on. This may prompt additional moves. Some teams have expressed interest in acquiring you. Its your decision and we would be happy to have you in Calgary to help mentor our young players. But we also know you may not be interested in being part of a rebuild. Let us know what you would like to do. If you would like to evaluate a trade, here are the teams that have expressed interest.

Unfortunately we have to wait until after free agency I believe. There will be teams who will be missing out on top talent and looking to improve back end. That’s when teams will circle back to us (hopefully) and give us some improved offers. And I hope we don’t get hellbent on picks. Good prospects are just as good.
|
I don't know anything about Nikishin or Morrow.... Looks like they are a 3rd round pick and an early 2nd round pick, respectively. Morrow has gotten a cup of coffee but neither are knocking on the door of top 4 minutes any time soon.
Bringing back Burns is interesting. Not a lot of players get contracts at 40. I would have guessed that keeping Orlov would be a bigger priority. The Hurricane's D makes Andersson look young and I can see why they are shopping for immediate D upgrades.
As for the return, I think the priority is a young C with potential and control. Picks are secondary because you still need to get to the draft, select the player, and develop them for some amount of time before they are ready to go. That is a lot of time for Wolf to wait for help.

I understand Kadri wasn’t asked to waive his no trade for Colorado last year, but if the rumored “package” for him was Ritchie + 1st +, 16th overall this year (from the monny deal) for Ritchie and a 1st would’ve looked pretty damn good…

I'm still trying to pretend that Ritchie didn't get traded to any other team but ours....

Nikishin is likely kicking it down. He was considered the best player not playing in the NHL until he debuted with Carolina.
So now you know.

I'm certain Conroy and team can project that 2 yrs from now, without a major addition from UFA and even with the rise in cap, assuming, Zary and Frost bridges (4MM and 5MM?), a Pospisil raise and Dustin Wolf deal, then Parekh contract hitting full bonuses, there is not that much cap space left.....
That 7MM for Kadri becomes more valuable.
