But any way, no, it's not karma. You don't have a right to murder someone even if they committed crimes in the past. Just like if his alleged victim wasn't a saint, it wouldn't have justified what he allegedly did.
I haven't heard this mentioned in the media anywhere. It's just silly how the media is portraying the man. If the officer is found guilty he should be punished obviously.
I don't really have sympathy for a man who beat and threatened a pregnant woman at gun point.

The media seems to be portraying him as another person unnecessarily killed by the police. I dunno how that's silly.

And now a social media dust up between Jessica Mulroney and some self-appointed “influencer” (who looks like she is rather privileged as well) gets a prominent spot on the flagship CTV National News. Ahead of the latest COVID news and a sad story about people continuing to die in BC from opioid overdoses. Jesus.

Do you have sympathy for Breonna Taylor, a paramedic who was shot and killed while she was sleeping in her bed after non-uniformed officers executed a no-knock warrant at her house? Oh, and they had the wrong address. Oh, and the guy they were actually trying to arrest was already in police custody.

Do you have sympathy for Tamir Rice, a 12 year-old boy who was shot and killed while he was playing with a toy gun at a park? When the officer arrived on the scene, he started blasting within two seconds of stopping his car, without even giving Tamir an opportunity to explain that it was just a toy and not a real gun.

The Black Lives Matter movement isn't just about George Floyd. It's also about Breonna Taylor. And Tamir Rice. And Michael Brown. And Eric Garner. And Philando Castillo. And way too many other people to name here. George Floyd's execution wasn't a one-off isolated incident of police officers straight-up murdering a person of colour. This has been going on for far too long, with far too many victims.

Because they should be portraying it as karma, obviously.

We have a very complex and deeply rooted narrative that we use to provide a context which seems fairly palatable if you don't dig too deep, but really we are all participating (more or less) in an evil and destructive enterprise.

Now, despite this uncomfortable truth, it's not like we are all bad people, and it's not to say that there aren't countless good and beautiful things happening every day. There is also progress towards a better world. But without the acceptance of who and what we are, how can we expect there to be any real change?
Compared to what?

Western societies have been the closest to getting it right than any society history. And because reality is messy and complex, they are also imperfect.

How will we get to your version of utopia?

If you think you are living in a society that bad, your frame of reference is completely warped.

At best it's ignorant.

Imagine seeing someone wearing the breast cancer awareness ribbon and your mind goes "ALL CANCERS MATTER!!!". They're raising awareness to a certain issue, not downplaying others.

Common sense.

Did he beat her? I can’t find a story that says he did. And he didn’t beat the woman in the picture you posted because she’s not her.

Nice fake news post Flames_Gimp.
I thought it seemed fishy that no one is reporting on this. Fox for sure would have been all over it.

I don’t think George Floyd was a saint but that doesn’t have any affect on what happened to him. Nor should it shade any of the commentary. What was in his body at the time or what he did in the past none of that matters. Lots of talk of that sort of stuff as if it forgives what those cops did.

The guy that tries to stir things up every time he's in the thread, is now defending all lives matter and spreading a false narrative about the murder of a black man. I'd like to say I am shocked, but let's be honest, it's to be expected at this point in time. I'm sure this is all some kind of setup with the goal of dethroning god, right?
