Vlad just doesn’t come off as having a very high baseball IQ. He has the talent but lacks the maturity and professionalism that might be required to take him to the next level.

Because a 21 year old won't gain maturity

Bichette is young too. He’s consistently shown the professional attitude and maturity to go along with his talent.

It’s the lack of maturity that I feel is the reason that he is at first base in the first place. I think he is getting very close to becoming an everyday DH and that is really bad news.

What a tough loss. So many questions.
Why was Stripling pulled after 3 1/3?
Why was Jansen asked to safety squeeze when the Jays are stinging hits together and they need big innings?
Why was Borucki pulled after 3 batters?
Why was Dolis only brought in to throw 7 pitches?
I feel like the Jays were winning in spite of their numbskull manager. Part of me hopes they miss the playoffs so we can launch Montoyo into the sun. At this point I’d rather Carlos Tosca comeback and manage.

I believe they mentioned that he was pulled due to an injury.
But all other points stand. Pitching handling has been rough this season.

Must’ve missed that. Hopefully he’s ok.

Oh I'm sorry, I was unaware that everyone matured at the same rate, my bad.

Not sure why they're not just leaving pitchers in that are doing ok. I really don't care about the lefty/righty thing as much as Montoyo does, if they're getting outs leave them in until they get tired.

does it even matter if they make the fake playoffs? They obviously can't compete with a decent team

These are good learning experiences for the youth, so yes, definitely matters.
Though, the style of play and losing probably is not as beneficial, the way the last few games have gone.

Yes, it absolutely matters. That experience while still building towards being contenders is invaluable.
Saying they can't compete with decent teams is just bull####. If anything they've proved this year they can compete, but you seem to be letting the last week or so overshadow the rest of the season. They have far and away had more 1 run games than anyone else in the league, that is competing.
I think the problem now is the bullpen is worn down because of Montoyo's poor management of the pitching staff.

Nobody else seems to want it either. Tigers, Orioles, and Mariners all lose again and our magic number is down to 6, and still a 95% chance according to fangraphs.
Not doing anything to inspire confidence they can actually win a series, but in a 3 game series who knows.
Ryu can absolutely steal a game. Chances are that our opponents game 2 starter is much stronger than ours, but in a game 3 we could have a comparable (Walker, Ray, Shoemaker) quality starter to a few other teams number 3 guy.
Bats could come alive. This is a slump and it’s a bad one, but in baseball things can really turn fast.

Eh Cleveland just lost 8 in a row. Before we played NY last week they were on a huge run of losing a bunch of games. Losing streaks happen but since all our competition is losing too we will still make the playoffs.

It's going to be streaky as baseball always is, but getting lit up for 55 runs and 22 HR in 5 games is a bit extreme and most pitchers outside of Ryu are going to have neck soreness from whiplash for the next week.
Montoyo and Pete Walker have to get a handle on this to salvage both pitcher and team confidence in their pitchers for the stretch and playoffs.

Cmon bats. Score some runs for Ryu. Gotta stop this losing streak.
Also, still makes me smile thinking the Nats let Harper go and won the World Series. What a turd that dude is.
