Oddly enough I thought I came with the right low, tempered expectations and I was still disappointed to some degree with the 'Challenge' of Elders.
At the same time for a free update it's nice to get people together and play again. Some better QoL changes though I'm sure the salt and complaints are only temporarily forgotten by the masses.
And something positive. Having fun especially with fusions as a viable secondary. Makes for some different approaches. That and Twilight Garrison in Rift just has been a fun thing to play with clanmates.

Titans are so greasy with that chest. So aggravating to play against.
Nice gameplay.

That was some great gameplay, and some great teamwork! Well deserved, really enjoyed watching that. You baited them perfectly on your super too. Awesome.

They said they fixed that issue but between the off time, many glitches and 'new' Destiny content I've not bothered to pop the disc back in.
Good job on the hovey beatdown!!!
Keep wanting to message you to see if I can get a run with you but I get so nervous and chicken out
And with the Division, you're not missing much dood.... the exploits that came with the incursions made the DZ pretty much unplayable given that almost everyone in there is in 240 and 214 maxed gear with the perfect stat rolls. Plus the insane nerf to crafting sucks as after 2 or so days of grinding materials I was able to craft 3 things that ended up being destroyed cause the roll sucked. I still log on to the dailies, I might try to solo the HM incursion because, why not...

Thanks and pfft, it's not like I've become some T1 streamer. Between my usual buddy and I, we generally try to find a 3rd at night, occasionally choosing to help somebody to the lighthouse. Would love to do a card with you sometime.
And yeah, I figured that at this point I might as well wait for the next major thing that either might reset some of the nonsense to an equal level or when Destiny gets dry again. It's hard though, just having the major rep boost/boosters and the Reef guns leave for some new things to do.

Anduril's a cool dude. I message him occasionally for a Trials Run (him and Apollos have carried me a couple times to the Lighthouse lol), and every now and then he pops into my party chats to play PvP with us (and proceeds to dominate with impunity).
IB drops have been super fantastic so far. They're frequent, and everything for me has been dropping at increasingly higher light levels (333 primaries are dropping like candy now!)

I've been pretty tempted to get a PS4 to play trials with you guys.
Seems that the best Destiny players are generally on PS4. Would be nice to match up against some of them.

So how much does light level matter in IB? I never used to care as I was always near the top, but I jumped back in to play IB this week and am at 317 light. I figured this would be no issue, but wow I am doing terrible. Just getting a 1.0K/D is nearly impossible for me right now. Most others are running around 330, so I figure 317 shouldn't make a big difference. Either that, or my brief layoff from the game really turned up my suck level.

Where I've really noticed it is in grenade damage taken. My setup on my gunslinger will let me survive tripmine grenades with the slightest bit of health remaining. In IB, I get killed by tripmines from higher light level players.
317 isn't terrible light level, but you'll find improvement in your 1v1 fights as your light gets higher for sure.

Yeah, just got to 320 and I notice a big difference now. Those close 1v1 fights seem more fair and my KD is back more in line with what I think my skill is. Crazy the difference between 317 and 320 is so noticeable

Totally got one shot body shotted this weekend by a 335 light level guy. That was cool.

Managed to work my way up to 324 over the week, so pretty happy about that. My only mistake was getting a 327 cloak, and infusing it into one that was already 325, leaving my Taniks cloak at 317. Now I have to sacrifice light level if I want to look awesome. So sad.
Seems like the sandbox changes were pretty good too. My hawkmoon was absolutely raking out there, but red death and MIDA were also solid choices. Seems to be a balance between shotguns and snipers too. Fusions are still too hard to learn in my opinion, so not seeing those out is unsurprising. All in all though, nice to see a good mix out there.
Tried the level 41 PoE as well and wasn't overwhelmed or anything. Is it worth it putting together a fireteam for the higher levels? Also, what is up with the sterling treasure that gives you armour at 3 light level? I know you can infuse it up, but it just seemed odd to me.

I'd say yes, it is worth doing the challenge of elders. It's easy to do, and you can get upto 335 light gear, as well after the 3 rounds you have a chance to get one of the year 2 PoE exotic weapons, a ghost, or a class item with upto 335 light as well.
The sterling treasure is just cosmetic mostly, although the rep boosters you have a chance to get are really nice. I think the 3 light is more so they can sell them for silver without technically being pay to win, but IMO it's walking that fine line.
