Whether or not you agree with that difference of opinion about how our tax dollars should have been spent in this particular case, it's obviously not some "gotcha" statement that can be laid at the feet of the UCP as a gaffe or anything. Characterizing it like that is dishonest.
For how pathetically under funded central Alberta has been I would much rather see that money spent on a hospital expansion in Red Deer than anything else. Both the NDP and PC's of the past have neglected the region for too long.

Side note: Don't have a heart attack in Central Alberta if you want to survive.

UCP's entire platform seems to be:

- We arent the NDP
- They took ourrr jerbs

What exactly is their platform. I want to know what they are, not what they aren't.

Stupid campaign with an even dumber leader.

There are much better places that money could be spent right now though.

And the NDP's platform is:

- Were not Jason Kenny

That about sums up Alberta politics these days.

You know what? If the NDP didn't ratchet debt servicing costs up to 3 billion and invoke multiple credit downgrades, they could have built 4 or 5 of these superlabs.

I want an alternative to NDP for sure, as a resident of a small town in Northern AB, but F me if UCP is gonna be that alternative.

Jason Kenney is one of the saddest leaders of the conservative party i've ever seen.

Next to that rat turd Scheer that is.

How would you know? Are you embedded in the healthcare industry and can rationally surmise that lab services don't need to be expanded? Do you work at Dynalife in downtown Edmonton and know the constraints they are facing? Are you familiar with the current community model and can articulate the advantages over an integrated community model that serves northern Alberta?

I'm curious to know how you can make such an assertion.

I'm conceding the fact that mouse turd Kenney will be our next leader. He will be the worst Premier in Alberta before he is done.

Stupid Notley should have renamed themselves when Mulcair started going all Green Party on her ass.

The UCP has been presenting platform on their twitter account.

https://www.albertastrongandfree.ca/

They've talked about Corporate tax cuts
Repealing Bill 6
Steps to helping woman victims of domestic violence
anti-human traffic legislation
Addressing property rights issues
Launching the hero's fund
Politician Paycuts.

There have been quite a few specific platform releases by Kenny.

They are ahead of the NDP in terms of platform releases.

I have not seen this website before and will be good to read in full, but I am not seeing anything about LGBTQ rights/support or climate change. Has the UCP been firm and clear on these issues? I also don't see any overt information about the carbon tax and what he plans to do with one in the long-term.

After Stelmach/Redford/Notley that is a mighty high hill to climb.

maybe if the freaking NDP would quit campaigning on the public dollar and call an election. every party could actually roll out their election team and full platform.

I couldn't tell you, the UCP looks like they're doing a gradual release, I expect that those type of things will probably come out after the election is officially called.

Just as a note, some of these platforms have been fairly specific, some are not as the platform pieces haven't been released yet.

That's not really an answer. The UCP and Kenney can be very specific about this publicly regardless of what the government is doing, and probably should have done so at the start when they came together in 2017. Climate change and LGBTQ rights are ones that should be stated unequivocally with no ambiguity in this day and age, and there really is only one right answer for both of these in a modern Canada.

Given he said as recently as last year that climate change was still up for debate [1], I'm not sure you can expect much in the way of useful policy.

you're right on those two topics, but for the rest of their platform, they're better off being quiet.

didn't Klein rip off the platform of Decore in order to win his first election?
I'd be hesitant to reveal too much information that that another party could take as their own.

This is a big part of the reason why I think people complaining about early platform releases are a little bit over reaching.

Chances are that if you have a solid piece of policy its going to get claimed by the other parties that you're running against and it looses its effectiveness in any debate.

We released this XYZ platform which will serve to do ABC and save people X dollars per year.

Yeah we have the same platform.

Effectiveness lost.

The personal smear of Jason Kenney continues with 2 more websites courtesy of the NDP. Another attempt by Notley to make Kenney look like a monster and someone you can't trust.

I don't know if Notley needs to make Kenney seem like a monster... Kenney does just fine at doing it himself.
