Xmas comes early for #CFL fans. A league source confirmed @ TSN will broadcast all but one of the CFL’s preseason games. Well done TSN. #CFL

Maurice Lloyd released... Not a shocking move. I'm sure they tried to trade him first but found no takers.

Just off the phone with Maurice Lloyd. He thinks its all money and disappointed Kavis didn't think he'd fit into new scheme.

The CFL will be issuing a statement later in the week regarding how the NFL lockout affects the Canadian league contractually.

Hamilton likely announces Glenn deal later this week. Both #Ticats QB's - Glenn & Porter - have now been extended this off-season. #CFL

Believed Glenn's deal, incl/ signing bonus of about $75k, will pay over $300k if he hits clauses (or repeat a 5,000-yd, 30+ TD season). #CFL

I bet Hamilton wishes they could rely on Porter for once.

So it looks like it's in the plans to do a bit of upgrades to McMahon Stadium in the future.
Frankly, I think they either need to tear the whole thing down and do it over again, or pick a new spot for a new stadium. If they're just gonna do a few tweaks here and there, it'll be wasted money since it wouldn't enhance the stadium much.
McMahon is seriously outdated and subpar for a city like Calgary. And with Ottawa, Winnipeg, and Regina look a new venues, while Vancouver puts finishing touches on making there's pretty sweet, Calgary is left with something less than stellar. Calgary doesn't even get a shot to host the Women's World Cup in 2015.

Unfortunately, with no government funding from any level coming in, the renovations to McMahon will have to make due. The province is bleeding money, and I guarantee any taxation from the city to pay for a new football stadium will be horribly unpopular (Calgarians like their taxes low, after all) IIRC, the Stampeders have already put in a request for McMahon to get federal funding for stadium improvements, but have been rejected, just like every other stadium request in this country.
Vancouver got upgrades to their stadium funded by the Government due to hosting the Olympics. Winnipeg got their upgrades funded by the city and province, and the Blue Bombers have to pay back $85 million+ using ticket increases.
Ottawa is improving their stadium (not building a new one) using the same process the Stampeders want to do. It seems to be the only logical way to get stadiums built in this country.

I think they can fix it, but it will be more than a couple more concessions and a new can.
They need to build structures to the end of the endzones. expand the R&W to the back line and same with the clubhouse.
It's about the right size on the sides so no expansion needed there. They do need to expand the overall concession area and probably create some kind of Club seating (maybe above the R&W)

Ottawa might not re-join the league until 2014 now.
Quote:
The delay stems from a group called the Friends of Lansdowne Park. They made a legal challenge to the redevelopment and that challenge was supposed to be heard during the week of April 4. That challenge has been pushed back to late June.
