I know someone who just bought a 3GS last week. Ouch. I also tried to talk another friend out of buying the 3GS and waiting till the new iPhone comes out. I hope she listened to me.

Yeah I had a friend who bought a 3GS last week too. Quite unfortunate.

My friend nearly bought a 32 GB at full-price until she saw the price tag. She'll be glad she got scared away...

i almost got a 32 3GS last week but 2 things happened:

initial cost was raised 70$ since 2 months ago
new phone out soon

Maybe I'm missing what all upgrades this phone will give over the 3gs, but to me the extra cost and the added time on a contract doesn't seem worth it for any of the upgrades it gives you.

I have a 3G. And I want to use all the bells and whistles of 4.0. Plus the fact that the new iPhone is thinner, well, maximizes my pleasure.

I have a 3GS, but I'll upgrade anyway. I always do. I did before the iPhone, too. I just get bored with my toys. I have tech-ADD.

I half a year and a half on my contract, so doubt rogers will HUP me. Hopefully the phone itself is under 700$, so I can buy it without extending.

Saw that too...kinda a bizarre ad. I'd be surprised if Telus got first dibs on the new iPhone though...you think Rogers would get first dibs based on how the iPhone started in Canada.

Yeah that's a fair comment. It's tough to compare when it's just a bunch of new iphones lined up. I do prefer the curved look, I think that looks sleeker. But it's certainly not bulky I suppose, just bulkier then the old version.

Anyone know when one becomes eligible for a HUP on Rogers?

Dunno if i will be able to HUP if not hopefully the phone is under $750.

Its every two years now for iPhones and higher end blackberrys.

I know certain user upgraded to a 3Gs with Rogers last summer. Of course he pretty much had phone sex with the CSR.

I am pretty sure that no one in canada has an exclusive deal with Apple, so the Iphone will be launched simultaneously by all the big players in Canada. Doesn't hurt that they all have released plans for the ipad, which uses Micro Sim (same as the Iphone 4g).
