She's not even that. She's a dead, mutilated girl.

"He was not actually on the run," aunt Linda Jenkins told CBC News in Calgary Thursday.
"It's important that people know the whole time he was in contact with police," she said. "He gave them his licence number. He told him where he was going. They told him it was OK for him."
|
Ummm yeah, I guess the police gave him the OK to sneak across the border. Suuuuuure. This family is something else.

Whoa, whoa - if all damning accounts of Ryan are true, then it does not take a leap of faith to bet that Ryan was lying to his family about what happened. If all is true, he has been lying to his gfs, friends, and family.
The family sees their little boy, who was thoughtful, charasmatic, and full of life. If all is true, he likely concocted a "it wasnt me" story.
Don't blame the grieving family - they are looking for answers as much as anyone.

I always wonder why the police reveal details like the victims body was identified by the serial number on her breast implants. Who would have ever thought of that? Now the next sicko will cut off the fingertips, remove the teeth, and then mutilate her breasts to hide the identity of the body. If they didn't say anything, no one would have known their clever secret.

Deliberately lying to themselves isn't helping them though. That story is so stupid that the aunt MUST know it is bs. Seriously. The Jenkins family needs to just shut up for their own good. Don't go to the media, and if the media goes to them, just slam the door in the reporter's face.
I agree with the others. The people that aided and abetted his escape should be before the courts themselves. Sucks that their relative was a murderer, but that does not excuse harbouring him.

I've noticed that American police, versus Canadian, seem to reveal an inordinate amount of detail about their cases, either officially or, more likely, unofficially through leaks.
They just can't shut up. That makes it entertaining for all of us voyeurs, of course, but . . . . .

Right now, it looks like some family members were engaged in aiding a fugitive from justice described by police at the time of the help as armed and dangerous.
A young lady who checks a millionaire brother into a hotel using cash and leaves within 20 minutes will have a hard time explaining it away as anything more than it looks like.

The whole family sounds like a bunch of D-bags in my opinion.. and no. I wouldn't do the same for one of my family members, I also don't expect anyone in my family to help them if they did do something like this. I'd help the police apprehend said family member

A year later, the Sun has it front cover again:
http://www.calgarysun.com/news/colum...-14977541.html
"Everyone who knew Ryan loved him and that's what we remember -- I don't care what anyone else thinks."
. . . I guess people believe what they need to believe.

Someone selling the coat rack that killer Ryan Jenkins used to hang himself tried selling it to his family before advertising it online, his mother said Friday.
“They offered it to us first. It’s sick — I can’t believe the cruelty of some people’s thoughts,” Nada Jenkins said from her home in B.C.
“We were just appalled.”

Ryan was an off-the-rack type of guy apparently. Easy to shop for.
