Related question - do most home insurance policies cover hail damage (ex. damage to siding and roofing)?

Firstly I would like to say I feel for those who have suffered in anyway from the wind, rain, lightning etc.

So, having said that, all of the negative stuff aside, the storm the other night (Sunday I think at 2 am) was worth my wife waking me from a deep sleep to witness. The light show was incredible and seeing the volume of rain come down and wind beating the trees from the safety and warmth of my home was incredible.

And (bite my tongue), the moisture and cooling was welcome after the heat (let's just hope we get a few more weeks of summer eventually.

That's a more probable explanation.

Yes hail is covered and if the hail or wind caused a water leak (ex: hole in the roof or torn shingle) then the subsequent water damage should be covered as well as long as you attempted to mitigate loss (move stuff out of the way).

Somewhat related to topic. By the looks of the webcam at Lake Louise and Sunshine Village, it looks like there is snow in the mountains.
