I hate to admit it but I have never even heard of these two guys: power forward Amir Johnson and guard Sonny Weems. It doesn't mean they are bad players, it's just that i missed a lot of NBA games in the past few seasons due to Raptors lack of success.

The trade makes sense. That's about all you can say about it. Johnson has upside so that could pan out. At worse though he is yet another young athletic guy they have added to the roster. Ditto Weems although he has far less upside.

They can throw albeit for limited minutes a very athletic roster on the floor. Plus the other obvious benefits. Delfino was an asset and they got something for him. Ukic wasn't going to see the floor and so they get a guy like him(upside) at a position where he can get some playing time. Nesty and Evans are going to give you only so many minutes. Bosh played too many minutes last year. A young athletic guy out there with some upside for a few minutes ain't a bad thing.

The one thing that does make me think is how long will it take for them to play like a team? The roster has been completely overhauled. They are going to have to wear name tags in training camp LOL.

Part two is up as well. If you want to read an actual frank interview then this is the one for you. Plus he goes into details. For instance step by step letting you the fan know how he has yanked an offensive set from the Magic because of the addition of Hedo.

I'll let you read the whole article but the important part to me is that part of the time on the floor Hedo will run the offense and Jose will be used as a shooting guard. I like the idea of the Bosh/Hedo pick and roll far more than the Jose/Bosh one. It creates a situation with two big men heading for the basket which was a missing ingredient.

On defense he says exactly what I was hoping for. It's not going to be about individuals becoming better defenders but knowing their roles within a simple system. Great defenders are very hard to find. Players come into the NBA with far less preparation that they used to with many only playing one year of college ball. A simple system where they can either use their smarts or athletic ability or coverup the lack of either is the way to go.

Triano is saying the right things and has an actual training camp to implement them which he did not have last year. In fact he had a team in turmoil to deal with.

Very unusual to see a coach give this good an interview. Candid and informative!!!!
