Does anyone know how far in advance they had all this stuff planned? Because it is so insanely complex, they must have had a pretty good idea as to what was going to happen, no?

Well with some careful planning, they could have winged some of those stuff after season 1. Take a giant whiteboard, pick a theme you want to go with (to continue on with season 1) throw up a bunch of ideas, and start to connect the dots and fill in the blanks. Once in a while, you might be able to add in some tidbits from season 1 too.

They say, once they reveal the identities of Adam and Eve in the caves, you will see that they had everything planned from the begining.
I think that ever since they set a finish date, the show has gotten a lot tighter. Season 2 was mostly filler but near the end of season 3 when they decided on how many episodes would be left the show really started picking up steam.

I found the same thing. It's a show that needs to have a start and finish to be able to fit everything in (or leave stuff out).
Now it seems like there are a number of great episodes with a filler one here and there to bridge the stories together or be a necessary evil to get from point a to point b

I thought it was a little flat. Its funny because I lose interest during the Sawyer, Jack Kate centric episodes, but I find the Ben Locke episodes to be so much more.
I did have that laugh out loud moment when we found out that Hurley's diary wasn't a diary. And he did a great job of being a disturber during the long uncomfortable ride with Miles and Doctor Chan.

100th Episode airs tonight. Obama's speech shouldn't run over.

The wrap up was boring. It had no new content, just re-hashing the old stuff in a less exciting way than watching a re-run.

Agreed, I didn't see anything that would suggest Charlotte was Daniel's daughter, just that he recognised young Charlotte. Theory in white:Now I do think that Daniel was Widmore's son.

Seeing as Widmore said as much when he ran into Eloise at the hospital, I think your theory is a good one.

I pretty much thought that as soon as Widmore told Daniel that he and his mother were "old friends".

Didn't Widmore also tell Eloise near the end "He's my son too," and then she slapped him?
