I personally am a big fan of the movies so I do what I can to supports them (hence go to them) or most of them. If I dont see a reason to see something in the theatres Ill usually rent it. I used to download a lot but I dont any more

Yeah, I'm just a sucker for anything that comes out on IMAX. Personally I'd rather rent, but nothing compares to the IMAX screen.

My theory on it is the same as CDs. Jacking up the price of a movie isnt necessarily going to make revenues higher. You drop a movie back down to 8-10 bucks instead the almost 13 it currently is and I think you see a lot more people go to the movies rather than sit at home downloading crappy cammed versions because they dont want to spend the money to see it

I just wanted to say that I heard this morning that the role of the Riddler has been cast as Johnny Depp... That should be an awesome part for him.

Booo.

I didn't want them to do the Riddler next. But I'm willing to trust them if they do it right, but Depp???...

This type of character is right up Depp's alley. I like this casting.

umm...I'm pretty sure that both Nolan and Bale signed up to do three movies. This is Nolan's trilogy and no one is coming in to finish it for him.

Johnny Depp is a terrific, terrific actor. One of my all-time favorites. I would love him as Riddler.

Christopher Nolan has NOT officially signed on for a 3rd Batman and Johnny Depp has NOT been cast as the riddler. That is all.

Nolan has been doing it by film, they've offered him a deal to come and round out the trilogy - he hasn't agreed to it though.

The Depp as Riddler and Hoffman as Penguin is a rumour - it came from an interview with Michael Caine. They were talking to him and he said something along the lines of "i asked the studio how they're going to top the dark knight, and they replied: "simple, johnny depp as the riddle and phillip seymour hoffman as the penguin" "

So yeah, it's just a rumour. No one will be cast until Nolan agrees to come back. Bale however is signed on for than likely already signed for the 3rd - as most actors in franchises like these are signed to deals for a trilogy when the first is made (tobey maguire was as well)

Bale is also on the record saying he will only appear in a Nolan Batman flick.

Just say NO to the penguin. What a useless character. You might as well have Bat Hound and Bat Mite in there.

Does that mean we are going to be waiting almost an entire year for it to come out on Blu-Ray as they may push the home version back??

Then tack on another couple months before they release the Director's Cut ala LOTR...

WB is starting to piss me off, first the push Harry Potter back from winter to next summer, and now potentially this...

Apparently, they're going to still honor a December DVD release. Some are speculating there will be a 2 for 1 IMAX coupon inside the retail DVD case.

I don't understand the disdain for Penguin. If he makes an appearance, it will no doubt be a dark Nolanified version of the character. No purple pointy nosed Burgess Meredith. Maybe some fat guy with a penchant for umbrellas involved in diabolical plots to rule the criminal undeworld of Gotham City. And has a pet penguin.

You are going to have to explain this comment. Penguin has always been one of Batmans most deadly foes. The Penguin from the original Batman series is a farce, he does not think he is an actual Penguin, he loves all birds. He was born an ugly bugger who was teased his entire life. Once he realized he could fight back, he did, and rose to challenge any gang leader for the rights to the Gotham Underworld Crime Syndicate.

The Penguin could be played perfectly in a Nolan film, absolutely bonkers with a strong sense of class. Don't let yourself be fooled, Cobblepot is as dark and twisted as the Joker himself. He just has a more elegant and classy persona.
