This season I'm forcing myself to get up early in the morning and watch the games while I work out - easiest morning to wake up ever.
McDavid is the softest superstar I've ever seen. Just unbelievably ####ing soft.
McDavid has only ever had one fight, it was against a guy who was 5'08'' and McDavid broke his hand and that was the end of the rough stuff for him:
Whenever a player makes a clean shoulder to shoulder check on McDavid the Oilers go wild, and somehow get away with it:
The league needs to crack down on McDavid. He shouldn't be getting this kind of special treatment. He's throwing out arm bars and his team gets away with murder when he gets touched.
What can I say, I had very low expectations going into this game (and the season too), that was not a pretty win at all, but it’s still 2 points against the lubers! GFG and Hail Satan!
Kadri was also only 1/10 with Calgary when he was selected in the 8th round last night. I really don't have an issue with the order at all. Good chance the order will change a bit as a result though.
Instead of Conroy talking about the stick holds McDrai pull off and possibly draw the ire of the league and refs (don't need another wideman effect) why doesn't a fan come up with a YouTube or Reel or something breaking down all these instances. If the public starts pushing then they will need to make a change. I just think if this comes from within the hockey world it is deemed "undermining the refs" if it comes from outside then the NHL might actually have to do something.
In the MLB, mainly due to Angel Hernadez being a blind bat trying to call balls and strikes, some heroes of the internet came out with a twitter account that graded every home plate umpire. With chats showing the umps "strike zone", how many balls were called strikes and vice versa, as well as the bias of the calls and the rate at which the calls favoured one team over the other. Completely third party so MLB couldn't do anything to stop it. Results were that Umps now called better games.
It was a 50/50 call, in the end, that is always going to go the way of the forward. Unless that forward is Gaudreau at a key point in a playoff game. lol
Gridin got himself an OT shift (and did quite well - missed wide on the last legs of his shift, but still went all out to disrupt the play in centre ice, smart player). Gridin played 15:25, which was 7th amongst forwards on the night, and in his NHL debut no less. Coronato chewed up 18:46 (it would've been perfect to see him snipe one on that late PP). I hope in time Zary works himself up that chart too.
Put his shootout guys in the spots that made sense.
Last night was just a solid ass night to be a Flames fan. Wake up today, fresh off a BoA Win on the backs of the youth movement?
Giving Kirkland a chance for a shootout goal after almost a year off is good strategy too. Give him a chance to contribute and gain confidence.
No complaints about the shootout yesterday; we did win afterall.
