He's had a couple hot streaks as a Flame before, but this feels more sustainable, high shooting percentage aside. He's playing a really complete game this year, to the point that he's actually a really good fit with Kadri this time around. Net-front greasy goalscorer Huby has been fun to watch.

Huby was absolutely dangerous today, was there with my kid and he hit an insane amount of his typical passes.
Hope he keeps this up!

That shorthanded goal was really what I was expecting when the Flames traded for Huberdeau. I watched so many highlights of him in Florida scoring or setting up goals on a quick offensive zone break. Then he just looked meek upon arriving in Calgary.

Huby has been lights out the last 10 games. Full credit to him he has been a real team leader.
Same with Kadri. It’s great to see them playing well together.

The new huby style fits in perfect on the Flames now.
He’s even getting into tussles. Awesome to see.

I'm just glad he finally gelled with someone and we no longer have to play pin the Huberdeau on the donkey.
He's been great. Whatever "streaks" he's had before now, they didn't look like this.
He's been a consistent factor in the play when his line is out there from night to night. That's different than him showing up for a 30 second span to make one good pass like he did before when he was "hot", and is why those instances weren't convincing any of the skeptics.
The goal scoring has been an interesting wrinkle too. I didn't see that coming.
Go Jonathan! Regain that PPG form and prove the critics wrong.

on pace for a career-best 31 goals and has already topped his goal total from last year. Credit to him, he's been really solid all season.

He's just playing simple.
He's adapted his game recently. Huska plays a very north south brand of Hockey and historically Hubey has been an East West player.
Slowly he has learned what he has to do to impact the game in this style of game. The effort has always been there but the results weren't.
Now, we are slowly seeing the results. Do I ever think he will return to above 85 points, unfortunately not. Do I think he can get to 70, all the while being defensively sound and providing great leadership for our up and coming core, 1000%.

The entire first post of this thread was about how - after two seasons - a consistent effort finally seemed to be there and as a result the little things were finally starting to go right for the player. I don't think it's a coincidence that the bigger things are finally going right a couple months later.
Maybe other people saw a player putting in the effort his first two seasons. I did not.

Huberdeaus wife announced she’s pregnant. Let’s hope for a dad mode boost for hubey.

Don't NHL players typically go the other way and have a huge off period when baby arrives?

I always imagined it the other way around and now I think of it I can’t come up with a single example of a performance boost.
