He said they wouldn't make the playoffs. Then that they would be first round fodder. Then that they were doing it with magic beans and it was just a matter of time. This he kept up all the way to the finals, where they finally ran out of gas.

If you claim that it is going to rain, every day for a month, and then it finally rains, you aren't impressing anyone by saying I told you so.

In another thread, he claimed bitcoin would hit $100k by year end, and $1M in 10 years (that was a couple years ago). It subsequently dropped by 50%. When I brought it up, he tried to claim that he was right, when it dead cat bounced.

Once in a while, whatever. But when you do this every day? Ridiculous.

It does seem more helpful to me to try and learn from people who tend to be right a lot even if our approaches are very different. Either I’m missing something or they must be extremely lucky. And the longer it goes on, the more likely I’m missing something. So why not try to keep an open mind?

Well, they barely did make the playoffs in fairness. I wasn’t aware of the bitcoin thing, I was referring to hockey opinions.

Keep an open mind about what? He isn't imparting wisdom, he's making sports predictions - and no matter what transpires, claims he was right.

I mean, if you're learning anything from that, cool.

Alright dino, just don't make those of us that stuck up for you feel stupid by going overboard after the fact.

Some unsolicited words, but from someone that's been piled on many times in the past, what helps most posting here is just not taking yourself or your views too seriously.

If you always have something to prove, it's not going to go well and you'll always be met with some resistance. Recognize that there can be holes in your own logic and that people who have a different perspective are entitled to those as well. Be able to agree to disagree amicably, but without invalidating others. That's how you stop painting this huge target on your back.

Edit: If you even want that, that is. If you're set on being honey badger team guy, you do you lol.

come on guy...I have been the most accurate person in the Crypto thread, I get annoyed by people taking shots at me for missing targets by like 20% when my holdings are up hundreds of thousands of dollars. Usually the people that have been very wrong.

I post on here "100 times a day" because I literally don't work anymore because I have been good at reading markets

so yeah when some know it all calls my area of expertise that supports my family "beanie babies" "Tulips" "Lucky"

I might get a little hot, probably go overboard to be honest

I think dino is great, whether you’re on the same side of the argument or not. He’s actually probably even better if you’re not, because he’s fun to disagree with and, if you don’t like it, you can always just… stop… like an adult.

The guys who constantly name drop him and get on his case come off like losers, tbh. Time to grow up.

Now that Spurs and Yoho are gone the masses need a new common enemy!

There's so few discussions that actually occur anymore, the board would be boring and slow without discussions and arguments over members vs topics

1st they came for Yoho, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Yoho.

Then they came for Spurs, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Spurs.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

His takes are a bit much sometimes but I actually like having an unabashed homer on this site haha. For being a Flames forum there aren't really that many

Weird take. Are you like 65 or something?

We're taking offers on our business. I might make a couple million off the sale. I still have to work. There's zero chance I can retire at my age with the proceeds of my sale and my savings.

Hadn't looked at this thread since game day, has definitely taken a strange turn.
Fun game to play, look at title of thread and try to guess what the topic will be on page 10, very hard to get it right. (easy bet is Huberdeau)

Dino7c isn't my cup of tea but it would be pretty boring if we all agreed, just a big circle jerk on how great the Flames are would inevitably lead to delusion, and the same if we were all negative.

Guys, it's not about not liking to be disagreed with. I constantly surround myself with people who disagree with me and challenge my opinions, because that's how I evolve. I don't want people agreeing with me all the time. It's boring and it benefits nobody.

That being said, Dino's method of disagreeing is to call you a poopoohead and then stick his fingers in his ears and shout "I'm right" while you're talking.

He does have valid points that I often agree with, I just have to learn not to say anything when he says something I don't agree with.

The guy seems like a decent backup. And he has a cool name.
It's more that people are upset or disappointed EVERY time he starts instead of Wolf. It's ridiculous.

Did Spurs like the Leafs? I just happened to see it while I was over here and immediately thought of CalgaryPuck
