I don't think he has much respect of the other media in Calgary either. What a tool.
He does things that annoy us for sure, and I don't think he has his finger on the pulse of this team as much as others.

He needs to get better and take a different approach, but knowing that the guy reads this site, yikes this is harsh.

Why does the fact he read the site mean that we should hide the truth?

Same thing when Willis responded in the thread where there was criticism of him?

I guess if it is personal attacks they should get the same treatment other posters here get but when they are terrible at their jobs shouldn't we be free to criticize them for it?

So your proposed alternative is to just not call out bad reporting for what it is? Facing the public is literally in his job description, if it hurts his feelings to get criticized he should not be doing it. Granted, I don't think he deserves to be called a loser, but that's just part and parcel of the internet being the internet.

Hey Salim, if you're reading - be better.

Criticizing their work is one thing, calling them a loser and a tool is another.

C'mon man.

Hanifin is a solid defenceman but I can't see him as a game-breaking defenceman which is okay. As long as they don't pay him like a game-breaking guy, I'm all for extending him for another 8.

When I read it, it came across as criticizing their work. Salim is a loser the way he handles covering the Flames, the twitter posts he makes are what made him a tool.

It wasn't like he was criticizing him for wearing red shoes with a pink tie, or liking DD or something unrelated to his work. if he did and i missed that then yes things unrelated to his work is another thing.

Frank today on Barnburner if he would guess the cap hit comes in between Weegar and Toews. Is that 6.5-6.75M per?

That's not criticism. It's name calling. No matter what the topic is.

Right, because they were supposed to play goal and coach as well. Any D-man who can't play two positions while also standing behind the bench sucks. Fire them all into the sun!

I think Valji's beat reporting is actually quite good relative to what we've had in the past from TSN. He's confident and ambitious, which seems to rub many here the wrong way, and yes from time to time he adopts an insider posture on Twitter that's probably not merited. But he works hard and often brings out stories that are much more compelling than the rote game day reports that were the stock-in-trade of TSN's Calgary bureau for like 15 years. I really don't understand the bad rap he gets around here.

Pretty comparable to Weegar and H. Lindholm

Yeah, I've heard the same thing as well.

...when Hanifin spoke to the media earlier today and said there's nothing new to report.

I wonder what the plan is or if there is any. Re-sign everyone and keep running it back for the next seven years or so? Considering how the product looks on the ice, Conroy must see something with this group that no one else can.

Flames need to start shopping players soon. I suspect the Flames will sign Hanifin, so they better start making their plan to fill the holes they're making.

The defence or forwards.

I think we will be turning over half of the D at the least that's significant change.
