Sounds like Calgary is the one asking for Duke, no?

Yeah, and they should.
As part of a package that includes a 1st and a 2nd.

The Panthers have interest in Noah Hanifin, which isn’t surprising given their need for a blue-line upgrade. Anthony Duclair is part of that trade conversation with Calgary, but the Flames have several other teams that have called on Hanifin, and I’m not convinced the Panthers have the best shot at him. But I suspect Hanifin would love a reunion with old Flames pals Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Bennett in South Florida. Another team I’m told has shown interest is the Bruins, but Boston would need to clear cap space.

Should we really be the ones laughing?

Boston doesn’t have much in terms of pick/prospects

I’m not so sure that’s what the return is going to be built around.
We’ve heard the Flames being interested in Sanheim, which is a decidedly “now” focused player.

Even in a ‘now’ deal, it’s hard to see who the Bruins would offer. Frederick? Grzelcyk?

Yep - I agree, the Bruins would be a nightmare scenario for me.

Fabian lysell + maybe?
Don't love trading with Boston. Lysell + 2024 1st would be meh nut acceptable.

Still think Buffalo makes the most sense for a Hanifin deal.
Which probably means out of nowhere we trade with Minnesota or something.

Middlestadt doesnt move the needle much, outside of last year the guys not had the most success and he's had a long look in the NHL.
I think with the 13th pick gone and used, I'm not sure what I'd want from Buffalo.
Lysell+ from Boston is not near enough either.
There's no certainty Buffalo offered the 13th, but if they did and the Flames didn't jump at it then we really mucked that up.
