By all accounts Dubas said he wasn’t going to work anywhere if not Toronto so i doubt he is a candidate for the Flames

Dubas out in T.O. he will land a job when he wants one. Much like tree I fully anticipate the Leafs won't let him talk until after June 30th.

There's two top notch GMs available for teams now in Tree and Dubas. Will be interesting to see where they land. It'd be hilarious if the only teams the Flames and Leafs let talk to their outgoing gms were the Flames and Leafs lol.

Mostly joking but can the negotiation rights for GM’s be traded?
Like could the Flames and Leafs trade the ability to talk to the other team’s guy?

Wouldn't be a trade. But teams can grant permission to as many teams as they want, or as we have seen, none at all. But it could be a negotiating chip. I'll let you talk to Tree if you let us talk to Kyle or vice versa.

mostly because of that? Shouldn't you mostly be against it because he helped cover up the sexual assault of a player?

What did he do to cover up the sexual assault of a player?
If he gets reinstated by the NHL - then I'd accept that as proof he didn't cover up sexual assault, and was not involved in those activities.

An unnamed 2010 Blackhawks player also told The Athletic in June,
“Every guy on the team knew about it. Every single guy on the team knew.”
For 11 years, they knew—to say nothing of Quenneville, Bowman, McDonough, and the rest of management. And for 11 years, they sat on that knowledge and allowed Beach to suffer in silence.
or this.
https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/spor...hawks/2659002/
The investigation found that several team executives, including former GM and President of Hockey Operations Stan Bowman and former President and CEO John McDonough, failed to act on the information provided by Beach to the organization.
If you google, you can find hundred of articles telling us is how Stan Bowman cared more about winning the cup than dealing with a sexual assault. and then even after winning, he continued to do nothing for Kyle Beach.
I don't think he ever apologized. it would be a mistake to hire Bowman or coach Q.

I don't think keeping silent was the worst part. Even the victim didn't want it coming out for a long time and instructed the people he did tell, including his mother, not to say anything. That is a really difficult position to be in.
The parts that bothers me more is that after the victim came out with the story, those guys continued to deny that they knew anything.
I am sure that Quenneville feels sorry, or at least he ought to. I am just not sure that it enough.

If I'm Maloney, I think now is the time to make your decision. If Calgary isn't a desirable spot to GM, and you have a good (if not the best candidate) who is willing to take the job, perhaps you do it (Conroy or otherwise). As other GMs are fired there comes the possibility your very good candidate gets hired in a more desirable city.

The most boomer old school guy imaginable did just get fired in Pittsburgh, but I don't know if Toronto would want to bring him back.
Promoting Pridham to prevent him being poached is possible. I could see Carolina doing the same with Tulsky.
I wonder if Mark Hunter would consider the Leafs or if he's still annoyed at getting passed over for Dubas?
I also wonder if the Flames hire Conroy, would Pascall start looking for greener pastures? Toronto would be easier travel for Cassie and her tv commitments.

Why, is Brendan Shanahan small and petty like Murray Edwards?

Good points. Hunter would probably take the role as he's familiar with the team. He landed on his feet and am sure he wouldn't hold it against anyone. In fact if Shanahan were to get the boot if he took GM he could get the next move up later, so it only benefits him, not to mention some young guys on the team he has some assets to work with. I can't see Shanahan taking the time again with another unproven guy (Pridham). It seems like too much of a sell to the board.
As for Conroy, I wasn't too keen on him a few days ago, but I hope they make a decision on him quickly. GM spots will open and if teams hire him we're screwed.

That person is not trans. They make a mockery out of women and real trans people. He is a failed actor who happens to be a flamboyant gay man. Even gay men and trans people can see that clearly.
