They are under no obligation to play Coronato in the next game. Year 1 of his contract is already burned due to his age. It was mentioned many times in the intermissions.
I could see Sutter sitting him to again show who is in charge.

If Tre doesn't have the power to fire Darryl then he should grow some balls and quit.

Such a difference between those Huberdeau and Kadri attempts... the latter just "ho hum here's a shot", the former basically saying #### this I'm scoring no matter what I have to do.
Again though, it was over when they lost to Chicago. The Jets game and any hope since has been a dead cat bounce.

Time for him and Sigalet to shake hands and pack their bags.
Also each and every individual responsible for the so-called Flames "powerplay". Could not have done a worse job. Literally could not have.

Then Darryl Darryl'd.
He just couldn't help himself. He couldn't the seed just stay in the soil and do what it will naturally do. Had to dig it up and tell it to take a s###.

Well Markstrom played horribly earlier this season yet Sutter rode him these past couple months with the season on the line. If you're going to run with your horses come hell or high water, do it consistently.

Toffoli is a career 2 for 17 in the shootout apparently.

No, some of those are wrong.
Toffoli: 2 goals, 15 misses
Ritchie: 2 goals, 3 misses
Lindholm: 2 goals, 11 misses.

Fourteen data points and you can draw a conclusion?
It's almost like Canada is in the Olympic shootout and you'd sit Gretzky.

We'll probably even win a playoff round or two during those five seasons, but we definitely won't win two rounds in a single year.

Any roster is a weak roster offensively in that system. Just look at how bad Dustin Brown and Kopitar's numbers tanked in Sutter's system. The team has plenty of depth and skill but it means nothing when your mandate is low danger perimeter shots.

Story of the stretch run was the Flames played for the tie too often.
Even against the Blackhawks when they lost, Hanifin ties it a 2-2 in the second and suddenly the Flames are content, playing like they'll magically win without pushing for that go ahead goal.
Play for the tie, get burned.
So good at pulling even (tonight in the third too), never learned to extend that intensity to getting leads (and keeping them).
