Elite teams don't give up as many homeplate scoring opportunities like the Flames do and they certainly don't look like a five alarm fire in their own end. Flames are as far from elite as you can get, and that would be with their goaltenders standing on their heads.

This team should give up already. They’re worse in every regard than last year.

One of the primary reasons they lost vs the oilers in the playoffs was their inability to control momentum, and allowing teams to easily take control of momentum. They are so much worse in this regard this year.

Sutter teams may suffer from low scoring. They should be strong when playing with the lead. They are brutal in this regard.

I see no point in getting into a wc spot. For 60 games they are fragile group with weak goaltending and no real élite talent. That doesn’t just magically get resolve itself over the last 20 games of the season.

The reality of the situation aside, 3 out of 4 points and getting at least 1 in a B2B in Vegas where they've never won before? That isn't awful.

But the reality is they need wins. And saves.

And on a side note, when you begin the 3rd period trying to play keep away, you're really writing your own obituary.

Except they WERE the better team for most of the game. No need to call someone a homer for stating a fact.

And in the 3rd, they played really well until the Whitecloud goal. That was 5 minutes into the period, and was the Knights' first shot. But that goal changed the game.

For 45 minutes, they were the better team, by a wide margin.

That's true.

The problem is that they need wins, and they need to go on a run. But they are letting opportunities to get on a run slip away - time after time.

Up 3-1 heading into the 3rd, they HAD to come away with 2 points, but didn't. It's too far down the road to give them credit for a good effort (which it was)

Yeah. That second Vegas goal was bad and then the Flames ran out of gas. Need to win the next 6 games to stay in the hunt basically

8th fewest hdcf in the league. Top 8 isn't elite I guess but let's not pretend they're not pretty good at this based on flawed personal analysis.

Huberdeau-Kadri is not working. In fact, it's a tire fire.

Huberdeau - Lindholm - Pelletier
Mangiapane - Backlund - Coleman
Dube - Kadri - Toffoli

and if you could get another RW to slot on Backlund's line (or the Lindholm line and slide Pelletier to Back's line), you could then have a 4th line of:

Coleman - Lewis/Ruzicka - Duehr

Teams should need way more than just a good 15 minutes of play to beat us

It should take a full 60 of high compete to even have a chance

This is the problem

We've conceded how many rope a dope KOs this season where the opposing team need 5, 10, 20 minutes to do their damage?

All starts with the goalies making the saves they need to

The Flames have the 4th fewest home plate shots against per 60 in the league.

6th best in high danger variety.

Delusional if anyone is thinking this team is making the playoffs.

Dry erase board material…

It’s the same problems every game:

- lack of big saves
- lack of finish
- boneheaded defensive coverage plays

Repeat

That's shocking, because almost every shot they give up is a high quality one and because of that they end up in the back of the net.

Goaltending has been atrocious.

A good team finds a way after 2 periods to get the 2 points out of that game.

And the good team did just that.
