What exactly is “big value” going to get you. Looks like you’re trading the foundation of the team and keeping the high priced underperformers.

Not sure what that accomplishes.
It helps the team tumble down the standings resulting in the Flames picking in the spots they need to pick in to properly build a team that can contend. It is time to embrace a rebuild as this foundation you mentioned is not the foundation of top team.

That this PGT isn't longer after that kind of a loss makes me wonder whether indifference towards this team is really starting to kick in for Flames fans. I know it is for me.

The franchise is a sad demonstration of incapable leadership. The hockey team is boring as heck to watch. It has been depressing watching this team play this season so far. I will tune it off for a few weeks and see where they go from here. I watch hockey for entertainment and excitement. Now all I get is disappointment.

This season is a run out the clock and don’t do anything dumb scenario

If we squeak in we squeak in and anything else beyond that is a welcome/shocking surprise

Right?
Last night yes

Prior 13 games, solid goalie

And the best goalie on the Flames since early November

He didn't give up a goal in the first couple shots against, and that alone keeps him ahead of Markstrom in the trust hierarchy

All the more reason to stand pat at the deadline. No dealing futures/prospects as this team has shown nothing to indicate they could make a run.

That should be more alarming to the management of this team than an angry fan base would be. If you’re pissed off, at least you care.

they're settling for low quality shots from everywhere, rather than using skill, creativity and speed to get to the inside and generate higher quality chances like most of their opponents are doing with far less opportunities

the bulk of the shots put on net are practice for the other goalie

Sutter needs to adjust his approach offensively and cut out the low fat ####

Schenn is value-wise the worst kind of trade target. A 6th D who commands a high price based on intangibles. Chiarot was a terrible deal for Florida but at least they were a good team that won the East. The Flames are not good. Brad is hopefully smarter than this.

edit: whoops wrong thread. whatever

If this team adds a top 6 winger and a depth defenseman, they could probably beat Detroit.

They still wouldn't be a contender or anything, but they'd probably beat Detroit...probably.

I don't think Warrener is criticizing the coach there.
