BTW, Sebov is playing really well. She's had break points!
There's also Linda Noskova of Czechia who is 18 years old. And yes, Katherine Sebov is playing great, staying right with Garcia.

It is 34 degrees Celsius out there which probably feels well over 40 degrees on court.

Pretty brutal draw getting Rublev right off the hop.

Garcia is coming on strong and Katherine has lost some wind from her sails. Still, a very good performance regardless.

Muguruza winning the first set and then collapsing in the 3rd is becoming a common occurrence. It's all mental with her.

I should clarify that courts with roofs still have matches going on and Andy Murray is up a set and a break on Berrettini.

incredible stat, trivia question
A European man has won 72 out of the last 73 grand slams.
Name the players who won within that streak and before that streak.

Del Potro is the obvious 1/73.

Gaston Gaudio won the 2004 French Open so he's one of the guys before the streak.

Andres Gomez won the French Open for Ecuador in 1990.
Gustavo Keurten did it three times for Brazil. 1997, 2000, 2001.

Felix will be the one to end the streak this year

And a bunch of Americans. In fact before the streak only 12 out of the last 30 were European.

Had to peek at wikipedia for this one...
Spoiler!
During streak (European): Big 3, Murray, Wawrinka, Cilic, Safin, Theim, Medvedev, Alcaraz.
During streak (non-European): Del Potro (already pointed out by Senator).
Before streak: Gaudio (2004 French), Agassi (2003 Aussie), Roddick (2003 US), Hewitt (2002 Wimbledon)

Watching how packed this Berrettini Murray match is, is really something else but i'm not surprised.
I went to the US Open in the first rounds and tickets were $25/$30 for the full day. Seeing this match packed to the rafters is great for the sport but not a surprise.
It really is a terrible draw for both men but a dream come true for the spectator.
