It's so sad to see. He had so much promise before the injuries and setbacks. It's completely robbed him of his most important developmental years, and I really don't think he'll ever amount to more than a fringe NHLer at this point.

"All-in" isn't really all-in. There's still an expected value calculation that includes the future. It's just the present is more heavily weighted. If you think you'll set him back permanently by losing a year at centre, it's not necessarily worth it. You might get your investment of a year in the AHL back as soon as next season.

I was hoping he could do what Kylington did last year but that was wishful thinking. Continued to underwhelm in the AHL after being sent down, whereas Kylington was always a good AHL player.
