The fact Huberdeau did not have Calgary on his NTC list and the fact he spends time here gives me good feels about his extension. He is a terrific player and can drag players to good seasons just like Gaudreau. Weegar is a good D as well. Calgary’s D just got deeper than last year.

Tkachuk will do very well on a line with Barkov, who is Lindy only probably better. I suspect they figure they can afford not to have Huberdeau with Lundell, Duclair, Tkachuk, Verhaege all LHS LW.

The contract doesn’t change things a bit. It changes things a lot. Florida saw the writing on the wall, came to the conclusion that they weren’t going to come to a deal with Huberdeau after next season, and got themselves a Tkachuk.

That’s a great deal for them

This thread is overwhelming positive, it's so weird to see the usual player trying desperately to make sure everyone is super positive, when 99 out of 100 are.

This trade is insane, full credit to BT!
Made a huge move out of this terrible summer situation.

I can't believe Florida gave up all of that.

I can't see Treliving making the trade without being confident he can work out an extension with Huberdeau after what happened with Johnny Walkie.

Weager is good. He’s a strong skater and moves the puck well. Reminds me a bit of a guy like Shea Theodore.

He sometimes is lazy defensively but overall really solid

I have no concerns about Huberdeau's age. He should be a stud for the next six or seven years. GET. HIM. SIGNED. LONG-TERM.

OMG!!!!! This is amazing. Huberdeau is the real deal. Sign this guy immediately. Bennett must be pissed. Sign him. Sign Kadri!!! Sign everyone!!!!!

How did we get a 1st? What is happening? Also, a sign and trade actually happened?

This is the craziest off season ever!!!

Florida got 5 years younger and locked in Tkachuk for all of his prime years.

Flames are getting Huby at 29, and if he extends, will include non-prime years.
