I think Heiskanen is going to be less and less effective as the series goes, if the Flames can continue to punish him like they did tonight. He took some big hits, and no one missed an opportunity to finish a check.

It was on SNWest but CBC, the so-called national broadcaster ended up sticking with two American teams.

Yeah, I'm in Vernon and watched it on SN West. There better not be any blackouts in the playoffs

There are some (many?) who think it’s bad mojo. Especially late in the third period in a close game. If you’re up by a few goals, then wave all you want. But not when the score is 1-0.

Not a great example but it’s like saying “shutout” late in the game. You just shouldn’t do it.

At the end of the day do what makes you happy. But that’s why people are against it.

Dome was amazing, besides the aforementioned wave, had a blast.

The red lot is such a great edition, hope they get it going for away games.

Was surprised to see empty seats in the press level for a playoff game.

GFG!!

I want the Flames to move on...cheerleader for the Oilers, ridiculous takes on the Flames

He calls that a dive (which it wasn't) yet says nothing about Drai and McDavid last night (other then how great they are for getting back in the game on the PP)

Was the officiating as bad on tv as it looked in the dome? Not a lot of talk in here but people were pretty riled up in my section.

There are no regional restrictions in the playoffs. There won’t be blackouts. All games in Canada will be national. There are regional broadcasts in the states in first round.

The only issues tv watchers can run into is if you don’t have all the SN channels and there’s a long OT game in the early window like tonight.

They will always put the late game on its entirety on at least one channel but a golden rule of sports broadcasting is to never breakaway from a broadcast before it finishes. Rogers/CBC chose to do it on SN west for the Flames game but kept the pit/rangers game on CBC, SN pacific/ontario/East.

Wanted no part in the Wave in 3rd period of a one goal playoff game. Too distracting for the players. We should know better.

3 goal lead at least in 3rd period should be the Wave rule.

A 5-0 blowout like TO pulled on the Bolts would have been fun too, but grinding out that 1-0 win in a smothering checking game despite the team's high end offensive talent shows more that they can play the type of game needed in the playoffs. A character win to start with and build off of. Hopefully we get to see a 5-0 blowout later in the series too.

Wild game to be at. Huge win.

Flames have somehow lost 11 consecutive Game 2s. Time to end that streak on Thursday.

Honestly, not really. Some of the calls were a bit soft for what we consider playoff hockey but were definitely still penalties. All in all if it was called to that standard for the series I wouldn't be livid, the team would adjust. I don't think it was nearly as bad as the Edmonton game last night.

Personally I hope for less calls in general, I like playoff officiating (for the most part) usually but if they want it to be closer to the regular season as far as penalties in ok with this style.

Dont want to nitpick but generally wave is within last 5 mins... really don’t think someone is like “hey let’s quickly do the wave then take off at the next whistle”
