Mangi draws a penalty now as Boyle crosschecks him in the head essentially.
Boyle complaining that Mangi basically ducked under the hit, haha.

Mangi sets up the 3-1 goal!
Made a beauty move at the blueline, across to the point man who slaps it backdoor off Henrique's skate.
USA is challenging though, made not such a beauty move?

Mangi’s combination of heart and clutch play reminds me of Joe Mullen.

Too bad that Brown went offside there. I guess he wanted to chase a dump in, but it's his responsibility to hold up until the puck gets in.
Mangiapane having another good game. He wins so many races and battles out there. Really cool to see him having such an outsized impact on the tournament.

On the other hand, on a rush, if you deke at the blue line, you will surely put a teammate offside. If your teammates always “hold up” every time in case you do deke, you’ll have your teammates caught flat footed every time when you really want them skating hard.

He’s got a good chance to be player of the tournament. Great job for him!

You're right that the puck carrier can at times be at fault too, but I didn't like the read by Brown there.
RE: Mackey
Someone asked about how he is playing... honestly it's hard to say. I have only been watching since the mid-second and it doesn't seem like he's playing much. He sure gets under guys skin though, you see people crosschecking him a lot.

7 goals in 6 games.
Canada 0 for 3 before he joined.
That’s cast iron MVP stuff right there.

Power seems to always be on the ice. Lots of good plays and doesn't get beat. Scouts are right about his skating ability. Once he gets stronger on his stick he will doninate (my only criticism is that he loses some stick battles).

Mangiapane just keeps getting better and better. I'm glad he's getting a taste of international competition like this, it's great for his progression.
