It wasn't a shot from the blueline. When the shot is from that close you just want to stop the puck. And hope you get some help from your team, which he didn't. Very tough to complain about anything Markstrom did there.

I’d say sure, this is part of it.

More importantly though? This team just isn’t talented enough to be a good NHL team. Nowhere close to enough talent.

Markstrom is a very distant 3rd when it comes to mistakes that caused the goal.

This team is the definition of mediocre. We even tank like a mediocre team. 4th is the best this team has ever picked. That needs to change to compete with the other big dogs. We are lap dogs.

On paper this team should be better, they are having down seasons from all their best players, basically the opposite to their West winning season two years ago.

This isn’t regression to the mean but is a complete swing of the pendulum.

However, there is nobody who gives a single #### at this point. Wouldn’t be surprised if half the team has their June golf trips booked already

From what I can see when Rogers isn’t earning a F- grade is that the Flames don’t want it enough.

Still too many plays where I just don’t see that super hyper aggressive sense of urgency that one would think would exist in a game like this.
