I genuinely, and maybe too optimistically wonder if that is just a byproduct of being in Detroit?

Anyone thinking Ward was the only problem is wrong.

At the same time, they didn’t change systems over night. This was still Ward’s system.

Those concerns go back to his junior days
I’m not opposed to the idea as it would help the rw issue
But he’s a flawed player

Ya Calgary isn't near toronto roster wise and rarely will be. Toronto will always attract bigger name players at lower rates. The market just will never be the same.

Anderson and Monahan were garbage too.

Played better but a handful of passengers tonight. They need to start seriously shortening the bench in tight games. Keep Giordano away from mcdavid and find someone for johnny to play with.

Completely fair, my understanding of the player is solely seeing him vs the Flames or random other games I catch.

Just being a Flames fan is basically having a constant hard-on for that elusive big skilled GAF player that can drive a team to win.

Probably the best part of Sutter coming in is he will weed out the guys that don't sincerely want to put the work in to be a part of the solution.

I suspect that there's a small handful of them and they're not necessarily playing minor roles for the team.

Missed the game watching UFC but got the game summary from CP rather than listen to the Mcdingleberry fellat-a-thon that is sportsnet. Really surprised Lucic actually fought dumb-nell. Good for him. I will give nurse credit for taking the fight as well- he is usually the fakest of the fake tough guys. Neal is such a tool. After the fight he probably went to the room to polish his teeth and look in the mirror . I guess Leon is the new fake tough guy- mangiapane and gaudreau? Wow. We need somebody in his weight class to run over him. Not sure what his weight class is because the pussycat never fights. Settle for bennet running him through the boards.

Yeah he's definitely a flawed player. But most players that are available via trade probably are (except Mark Stone...)

Still, he's scored 25 and 24 goals before and the hope is obviously that he might be a good option for our top 6.

Viktor Arvidsson is another that really intrigues me. We've heard Nashville only has 3 untouchables, and none of them are forwards. Forsberg likely costs too much to be feasible, but Arvidsson?

27, right shot RW. 3 more years at $4.25M and has previously scored 31, 29, and 34 goals. I didn't realize he's only 5'9" I would have guessed taller based on how he plays.

I prefer having that line go for a change vs defending when the Oilers have the luck.

I’m thinking they should move johnny of the monahan line. He needs some help. Monahan was a ghost tonight and leivo is useless.

It’s basically 1 on 3 all the time.

I went too far with one comment I made so will stop. But the reality for me at least is that she makes watching (particularly games against EDM) totally unenjoyable. So I will either not bother watching or turn off the sound.

I thought that there were two goals that could have been prevented tonight if lindholm took the body...but I’m probably just being picky and would probably change my tune if I rewatched it.

Monahans problem is different than the other two imo...he’s being counted on to be a driving force offensively for this team...but he is just so ineffective on the forecheck that it hurts his line considerably, particularly because Johnny isnt going to be that player either. The problem with monahan is that you can’t put him anywhere else in the lineup because the other two centres are better defensively and physically than him. If he’s not putting up points, he really isn’t contributing a whole lot.
Monahan is good at one thing. Putting the puck in the net from the slot. If he’s not doing that he is invisible.

Lindholm agrees that they let things go in the final 40

Again, excellent first period but consistency is still a big issue.

Sutter can't come soon enough.

Negativity in this thread is nuts.

I don’t care whether the flames can win a coin flip game with a one line team (whose one line is crazy dominant). I care if they can win against a four line team in the 3rd or 4th round.

The answer might be not prove yes in time but the starting point is whether they are willing. Tonight was a solid yes. For the first time since chucky got hurt against Dallas.

For one night, the flames proved their biggest issue wrong. Conversely, the coilers proved every criticism right. I’m fine.

I don't mind her when she's doing her thing between periods.

21 shots in first period. Then 15 shots over the next 2. Have to get at least 10 a period.
